Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

It did not take him long. No- it could not take him long. She was there waiting for him, as she always would be, and he was finally there to fill that void, to fill that gap. His voice filled her senses and she swooned inside. He was there, for her and only her. Of course he was most receptive when she came to him, making her contact with a slight shiver of her frame. His warm flesh sent electrifying shocks all throughout her senses, and she wanted to get lost in his touch. When he smiled and nodded at her words, before replying, she felt her own grin stretch slowly across her muzzle. His regular usage of 'my queen' when it came to Rhae was endearing to her heart, and thus on impulse- and more than willingly- she reached out to wash her tongue languidly against the side of his muzzle, showing him just how much she enjoyed him and more. When he asks her how she has been, she knows there is no falsehood to his curiosity and concern. Iblis truly wanted to know, and for that, the creme marked wolf was grateful. "I am glad to have found you, Iblis. And I have been well enough- though missing you terribly." At her last sentence, the bright teal of her gaze visibly softened, as did her voice. "More than anything I have ever known."

Her words were true- Rhae was not used to such a thing as having an imprint. She still did not even know the word, but she was more than a little familiar with the feeling, the sensations at this point. There was a connection between them- an unmistakeable and unbreakable chain that tethered them together and one she never wanted to diminish. She did not know if it could or not, but, regardless, she would always do anything and everything in her power to keep it from doing so. But before she could gather her thoughts and continue speaking to him, a sudden, ear splitting battle cry sounded from the south of where they were. Glancing in said direction with her ears swiveling, she listened intently for any other sounds, or for any sign of danger approaching. Only, when she turned her bright teal gaze back on Iblis- what she saw there had her breath catching in her throat. He looked defeated, he looked broken, and most of all, he looked sad. It broke her heart to see him in such a state, and she could not help the low, throaty whine to bubble up her throat and slip across her lips. It was her duty to make him smile, to make him feel wanted- to make him happy.

Even as he spoke again, she was on the move. She couldn't help it. Rhae still listened intently to his words while she slid her body along his own, her chest coming in direct contact with his and her muzzle sliding back along the side of his shoulder. It was easy for her to rest her muzzle between his smaller shoulder blades thanks to her height, as well as the act of pushing her jaw down to pull him close against her. No action she made was aggressive, or even dominant- no, nothing but love, concern, and adoration shined in her bright irises and gave way through her body posture. He trailed off in his words, telling her he needed to talk to her. About? About what? His throat seemed constricted as his voice came softer, and upon his utterance of 'goodbye' Rhae tensed up completely. No. No he could not leave. He would not leave. Over her dead, rotting, and ever cold corpse. But instead of rudely interrupting as any younger wolf was prone to do, the elder wolf waited in silence and only slightly relaxed against him. It was war that seemed to be dragging Iblis away. Not another, or of his own doing. A war.

And then he lets her know that he is saying goodbye, just incase he does not return. Growling softly, lowly, and just barely audibly deep within her chest, she is shaking her head lightly before closing her eyes. Deep inhales help calm her now tattered nerves, and she collects herself before speaking to him. She does not draw away, though it would help her make eye contact, but this is not what she wants. She wants him close to her, close as can possibly be and to never leave her side. "There are no goodbyes, my dearest Iblis.." her eyes remain closed as she speaks, her voice quiet and for him only, her usual tones made husky by the simple emotions she then felt. "only.. see you laters." They were most unusual informal words for her, but it was the only way she could get across just what she felt. In a last gesture of her affection, Rhae slowly parted her jaws to grasp the flesh upon his scruff- never sinking her canines in, of course, but just holding him there as a parting gift, one of the only she knew to give. No further words were said on her part- partly because of her mouth full of his warm skin and fur, and partly because she couldn't find her voice. She did not want to lose the other half to herself, the other half to her soul. Infact- she meant not to.
