Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

It cannot be said what floats through the minds of the elderly when they slumber. Do they see the blankness of black eyelids as they snooze, or do they dream in wild and vivid colors? It is unknown if they see themselves as they once were, or if they simply see what they wish to see. For Fable it would be to see her family's faces again, to laugh and know joy, rather than the hardship she goes through now. Her life has come to a rather low point, and given her age, it is not a good sign. Her breathing has evened out now, to that of a light sleep, and she is relaxed and pain free in her unconsciousness. Nothing could mar this moment, well...nothing except being pulled away from her blissfully numb sleep.

Earthen eyes open, the globe itself visible now behind those chocolate brown lids as she looks blankly up at the bright glob of white above her. Ear muscles tense as she tries to perk the once-there appendages, the holes in her head moving slightly forward to show she has heard the girl. Her voice is like the texture of chalk – smooth and powdery – though there is some shake to her vocalizations, showing her age even in her voice. ”Yes, dear, I'm fine. Just taking a tiny nap before I had to get moving again.” It is the most she has said to another living thing in almost two years.

She slowly sits up, her joints snapping within her skin as she moves, each one bringing a small grunt of pain as they release. Her body seems to relax though, even as she sways on her elbows. Back and forth, slowly, in a rather unnatural display of nerve damage. She wants to stand, but if she did so too quickly, the muscles in her legs could give out and her brittle bones could fracture. She stayed on the ground, a wise choice for her. She pants for a moment, sitting up even getting to be an ordeal for the elderly wolf.

”Can you tell me where I am?” Her baby powder voice rings out again, softly, not a whisper, but barely above it. She hates admitting she has lost her way, yet again.
