The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

I run my tongue once more down the side of the wolf's skull, enjoying her squeamishness as she tries in vain to crawl away from me. Her cries are whimpering moans of pain and helplessness now. It's kind of hard to cry out when you've got no tongue. I ate that an hour or so ago. Her eyes are about to bulge out of her skull and it's surprising that she hasn't croaked over with a coronary yet. Her legs are splintered sacks of meat, useless to her as means of escape since I crushed them meticulously with my jaws. Her eyes are the only things left to her as she watches me, continuing her meaningless quest for saving. No one can hear her. I've made sure to bring her to the very back of the cavern where no one will find her, at least for a little while. I knew a short cut to get here. I've been doing a lot of exploring lately, a lot of finding. What else is there to do when my partner in crime and newly appointed mate pulls a fast one on me?

I can hardly remember the southern drawl of Sookie's voice. I can barely remember the heavenly grace of her perfume or see the delicate contours of her face. She is like a ghost to me, a wraith bent on my slow destruction. I shake the thoughts away, concentrating on my prize once more. I've kept her alive for almost a week now. She's only had two meals in that time frame, leftover meat from my former meals. I'm sure a part of her knew she was eating wolf meat but she was so hungry that she didn't seem to mind. She devoured it and I loved watching. I croon to her as I lick at her legs, her chest, her back. She whimpers some more. I'm sure she'd love to bite me again but that's hard to do with a broken jaw and shattered teeth. I only let her bite me once. My flanks still sting from it but I think I'll survive, unless she gave me rabies or something. The thought alone is laughable. She was pure in all things when I found her, poor little bird. I've corrupted her in every which way possible. I've made her watch as I kill her little sister, the one she was prone to protect. I made her watch as I then ate her sister. That's the meat I offered her three days later when I knew she'd be so hungry that she'd eat it anyway. She tried declining it for all of five hours until her stomach told her otherwise.

She cried the whole time but she did it anyway. Now I'm afraid she won't be of much more use to me. She won't find it easy to eat with her jaw and teeth like they are. I'm afraid she won't last the day. Poor thing. I'm about to finish her off but something stops me. I listen for a moment, at first only hearing the rain hitting the cavern ceiling outside. My ears twitch and then I get a slight whiff of another wolf. Ah, company. Spectators. I love spectators. Smirking to myself, I wander away from the girl, knowing she won't get far. I trot through the caverns until I find what I was looking for. The female lies down inside the cavern but she looks restless. Well I've got just the antidote. I stop a few feet from her and clear my throat to gain her attention. I give one nudge of my head back toward where I just came from.

"Come."

It's a simple request and then I turn on my heel, sure that curiosity will drive her to follow. I lope easily through the caverns back to my prize, glorying in the scent of death and fresh blood as I get closer. I don't turn my head to see if she's coming, I just trust her to come. I circle around my little bird. She's crying again, probably because she got hopes of me leaving her alone to die, or of someone else coming to her rescue. Either way, I circle around her, showing off my prize to the one who followed me in. My bright blue eyes glow with pride as I reach in to lick the wounded bird's cheek. She whimpers and tries to pull away again and I grin, flashing blood stained teeth. Ah, the cannibal's life. Such a joy.
