The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Ivory pillars stalked their way around the oblivion as a new door seemed to open before the dark demon. Strange thing it was… this Czar’s way. For, although Menacey had the impression of having seen it much before, he couldn’t shake the nagging notion that here was something else that he couldn’t quite pinpoint. Peculiarly unperturbed by the snowy King’s materialistic survey of his form, the obsidian felt as if he was emerging from a long period of immobilization. For months he had drove his body to its limits; each time breaking them only to find himself encumbered by others. This, the creature hadn’t thought about twice. No, Menacey didn’t slow his pursuit – not for anything. A state of reaching threshold was something addictive; once you had been there, it was hard not to go back. Yet, for all its drugged nature, the task had never been truly… exciting. Despite the beast’s well done evasion, the hunt had always been more a question of circumstances than anything else – this the slate covered male detested like a fierce itch that refused to cease.

Training deep amber eyes on this Royal the black lupine felt, rather than saw, the possibilities. There was a dynamic quality about this frosted giant. That spoke value to Menacey. Here was a king who would not be caught on the underhand; here was a king who could seldom be outdone. Lyrics that wielded with them another future swept over the raven clad stranger holding barely disguised implications. Implications. A choice must be made. The obsidian knew well that here was a crossroads. To leave his hunt abandoned was something previously unthinkable to the great canine; yet… here was an opportunity to do more with himself and to serve perhaps a better purpose. This was the pain, pride and problem of the choice. To walk away was against the hunter’s DNA. So be it he thought, I always loved a mind stronger than reason.

So it was made.

Generous of you, Sire. If you’ll take me then, I hope I can be of use.

Standing in the King’s shadow, the onyx canine wondered vaguely whether the Czar understood how weighted this choice was, that the wolf at his feet was choosing - against all odds – against the eternal hunt.
