News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Oh get over it Ava, if I want to touch you I will.

One eye lifted in mild amusement at the single fang she exposed as the thick snowy form of my tail graced against her own ash and coal coloured pelt, something of a chuckle rumbling within my chest at her disdain. Honestly, I’ve already ‘touched’ her in a way no other ever has, our children are the result of that and really, you’d think she’d show her parental-figure a little more respect then that. Maybe she is younger then myself, heavier even and indeed I am aware that I would no longer be capable of forcing her into submission were I to desire it and yet until the day she dares challenge me in such a manner I maintain dominance over her and she would do well to remember it, it would be a shame if the children had to see their mother commanded by another now wouldn’t it? I snorted softly once more as I sat, entirely content to ignore the chill of winter this season. I gave Ava what she wanted, I righted the apparent wrongs of our past although I still maintain I told no lies to the girl as a child. She simply did not ask the right questions. In typical Ava-style the girl decided to glare at my perfect form, eyes narrowing as I grinned towards her, honestly it does nothing for her features and yet the girl continues to insist to look as if she is squinting all the time with her narrowed gaze of copper. So like Castor. I hardly know if she even remembers her sire, or the eyes he gave to her and her children in turn, just as I hardly know if she remembers her Mother, my Eris one whose features I see within the beauty of Ava and the girl, Ayal. It is strong blood indeed. Hmm, perhaps Ava does not need to remember from who she came, perhaps she does not need to speak of her parents to her children, our children- I remember them well enough and perhaps that is all that is needed.

Something akin to amusement seems to flicker within the girls gaze as I mention the war just fought, the mention of blood always seeming to have excited Ava, even as a child and indeed, born from my blood or not she carries the same….edge that so few are given to have. The very edge that led her Aunt Jaidah to insanity, that led her grandma Apollymi to greatness and a truly great defeat and the same edge that saw Eris assassinate and Castor challenge any wolf who dared defy him. It is a need for power, a lust for blood and an ambition that just cannot be curbed. It is a truly great thing and yet….one that will destroy as fast as it will see you rise. Believe me, I know, ambition runs painfully deep in my own line, as does bloodlust, yet unlike those of the Apollymi line, the line that bore Tobias, Jaidah and so many others….we control it. Hopefully our children have inherited that control along with that which leads them to be great. I allowed the violet of my gaze to rest upon Ava once more as she spoke, my own ears pricking forward to capture her words and yet, this look of amused interest lasted only so long as her second sentence, my features contorting into my own scowl at her words. Malina? My Malina?! My own once-apprentice? Saving Demons?

“WHAT?!”

I barked the word so loudly several other wolves paused to stop, the white of my fangs flashed towards them in warning to continue one past as another growl coiled within my throat, heckles lifting like frosted knives as I turned back to Ava, tail lashing at ice and snow as I stood, once more an image of that I can be, the Assassin King I once was as the violet of my gaze flickered dangerously and my voice hissed from between my teeth in a furious clash of anger and bitterness.

“Daemonem fugere permisit? Cum tibi eam destinatum morti? Lupus Iromar illa tutatus, ab ea arte sua Soror! Tali hebetudine quid est hoc? Vos interfecistis malina loco!”
(She allowed a Demon to escape? When you had her Marked for death? She protected a wolf of Iromar, from her own Art Sister! What idiocy is this? You should have killed Malina instead!)

I snapped the words, thick, black claws scrapping at the ice as anger seethed within my veins. Malina has been….obscure of late, this I cannot deny and yet an Assassin is always secretive, always keeps to him or herself and indeed I offered Malina this courtesy when it seems I should not have. This is not the only report I have had of her…..unusual behaviour and indeed it seems I have already had to much faith in the girl, I should have acted before this, before she become some demon-loving lunatic. I know Ava does not lie, I know her well enough to understand the nature of her mind in this manner and indeed the girl gets entirely to much pleasure from the truth of her words to have formulated lies. Perhaps I did not truly mean the last thing that I said. I…raised Malina, in a way, the girl walked in my shadow for so many years and indeed, well, she had become a partner of sorts, an equal in a way, the one I simply intended to leave things to when it was I left this earth and yet now….now it would seem she has her own agenda. I snorted once more, breath hot and rising like smoke within the air, hard muscle pulling and gleaming beneath my pelt and indeed for those few moments I know I did not look a wolf of seventeen, for a few moments at least I was the King who had ruled for so very long, before I fixed Ava with my gaze.

“Post paucos dies malina quaeram, ut accersam te: et omnia ad fundum eius. Priusquam id faciat veritatem sciam, ut sciam quid dicis quod si fecisset, operosius credentes.”
(I will seek Malina in a few days time, I will summon you all and we will get to the bottom of this. I will know the truth of it before I act, I will know why she did what it is you claim though I have little trouble believing you.)

I snarled again, jerking away from Ava, moving to seat myself once more, attempting to force the heated aggression from my frame once more, blood scorching and burning within, forcing myself to speak to the pups, attempting to placate my own agitation n one way or another, gathering myself once more into a façade of easy calm, features soothed efficiently and easily as always. I am not Master for nothing. The first boy, the boy of grey and white, a mixture of Ava and myself is given to speak. Eden. His words bring nothing but a snort to my lips and a roll of my eyes. Is he expecting a round of applause for his comment? Yes, well done boy, you know you are not Castor. I shoot a look towards Ava, one eye lifting in sarcasm. Well done Ava, our son is clearly a genius. The girl I held higher hopes for, her words at least, well, practical if anything and yet much the same as the boys own, the tone they hold is very much- as their Mother.

“Hmm, video filii vestri sint intelligentes, Ava.”
(Hmm, I see your children are intelligent, Ava.)

The words were not entirely as sincere as they sounded, a grin flashed towards her before the last child arrives, a boy easily as white as myself with eyes a violet I know all to well. In fact…..I am rather sure I have seen this child before, once, a very, very long time ago……..seventeen years ago to be exact ad I saw my own reflection. For a moment I felt my eyes widen slightly as they fell upon him, watching him as he came to seat himself before me.

“Deus Bone!”
(Good God!)

The surprise in my voice was clearly evident. Anselm. I haven’t seen him since the day he was born, at least not up close, I knew he was white and I was told he held eyes of violet, yet Ava had clearly never thought it was by any means useful to tell me my son was my near twin! If the rest of the pack knew not who fathered him then they were thicker then I even believed. This boy was more my own then any I have fathered before, they flecks of copper within his eyes the only thing his Mother seems to have given him. His sudden speech drew my attention once more, seeming to bring my mind from its daze. I know? He knows what? I scowled slightly once more, Eden grinning slightly to the side as Ayal huffed. Do they know? Has Ava told them? Surely she couldn’t have been that foolish. Children cannot keep secrets and I will not have it known that I fathered this trio, not yet anyway. His final sentence seemed to surprise me once more as I lowered my head towards him, looking into this image of my younger self. Hmm, I was a handsome thing wasn’t I? Still am really. Die? What the hell did that mean? Die? Ava distracted me once more, head turning towards her to offer a snort of disdain at her ridiculous words, before my own smirk laced my lips, a beautifully, lovely grin as I chuckled, no longer paying attention to the boy seated at my feet as I regarded her, switching into the common tongue.

“He wants to know does he? He wants to know if I’m going to die yet? Well then I suppose I best explain how it works-“

My attention remained entirely on Ava as I struck, giving no indication of my ‘attack’, right paw lifted to struck so suddenly and swiftly at the boy, Anselm, aiming to knock him right from his foolish paws and sending him sprawling across the snow. It will hardly do more then give him a good knock and yet really I think he deserves it. So shoot me, I’m in a bad mood and death is something of a touchy topic with me. A growl rose within my throat, lips peeling back from my fangs as I moved to stand over him. It should be clear enough to Ava that I am not going to hurt the boy, I merely assert my authority as is my right and if Ava has a problem with it, let her. She may not discipline our children- but I will.

“Bene mori paratus sum ego. Omnes morimur, veritate, sed et nos vobis quod nemo parati sumus mori. Multum fortuna faceret. Moriamur cum damnant bene definire nisi habeas, et non ante, magnitudinem, velocitatem vires exposcere moriar tunc suadeant addis 'molestus non mole meam lupi quinquies' hoc album quæ vobis ita videtur scient.”
(I will die when I'm good and ready. We all die, Anselm, but what no one will ever tell you is that we die when we are ready. Fate has little to do with it. We die when we damn well decide and not before and unless you have the size, the strength and the speed to demand I die then I suggest you add 'don't annoy wolves five times my size' to this list of things you so apparently know.)

Harsh, maybe, but I think a boy should remember his first meeting with his Father, no? At least, one day, when they tell him about me he may be inclined to believe the stories. I stepped back and away from him, moving to seat myself once more.
