{Angels are Bright Still}

He is being a boy most filled with energy this one, I am liking this thing for indeed I am liking this way in which he trots and prances and waves his tail. It is a refreshing thing, for indeed it has been a time most long since there has been given to be joy within Diveen. There are small joys of course, these small and wondrous things that occur each day such as the rise of the sun fire and the fullness of the moon and yet, with the war so strong brought upon us by those of Iromar it seemed so much joy had been robbed from Diveen, so many had been given to say goodbye to mate or child for indeed they knew not if they would return, only for the selfishness of Iromar. I am telling this Ishtar she cannot win, I am telling her from the start she is wrong to force her wolves to this fight. Diveen is largest and most powerful of all packs, we is having numbers she does not and yet still, so blind, so poor in her leadership is she that she sought to fight regardless and it was as I predicted, our numbers overwhelmed her own and they were made to suffer when they need not have. That is not leadership, a true Queen would not have gone against such terrible odds to try and force her win and indeed, if Diveen alone had not been enough, the mountain pack of Spirane stands with us, another dozen wolves. I pray only that I do not one day become so hateful of the world as she, that she cannot see a reason to simply live and let be. Yet I desire to think of this no more, my thoughts turned to he who bounces beside me within the snow, his youthful energy a pleasant thing and one I have long since learned to adore with the five children I have raised and more on the way, though my sides have not yet begun to swell so obviously with the union of my Kane and I.

I paused in this moment to look upon him as he spoke, telling me of these things I asked as we walked atop the frozen earth this night, my ears inclined softly towards him to capture the words that drifted into darkness and moonlight. The violet of my gaze rested upon him but a moment at these things he said. So many lost their pack that night and yet so many more were given to lose their lives. It is a day I dare not think of, for it brings only grief. I lost my home, my Mother and my infant brothers, a sister and more pack-mates then I care to count. Heyel led so very many to safety and yet so very many died as well. I cannot imagine this loss as Queen and I dare not, not tonight though I find a smile most gentle for him as we walk.

I grinned once more, letting my own paws lift into a trot in that moment, feeling as perhaps a child myself though indeed I felt perhaps a little foolish in this thing as I pranced a little, just to be seeing if I could. It is a fortunate thing, I think, that my Kane is not here to see this, for he should be inclined to laugh at my prancing and I should be inclined to scold him for it. I am looking to this Nootau once more as we move again, climbing higher up as the land is given to slope.

I smiled again once more, slowing my pace to that of an easy walk as I looked upon the child again. Perhaps he does not wish to be alone any longer, perhaps he has grown tired of a wild so harsh and one so young should not be without- family.

�Perhaps, young one, if you is liking to, you may spend a night within Diveen, the pack I am living in. There is much space and I am knowing most well our Queen will not mind you staying, yes, I am knowing the Queen very well and I is thinking you would be welcomed, if you is liking to do this?�
