soul forever her own | heart captured by none | Hastati for Glorall | no children |
She heard the adventurous pup before she saw her, ears flicking to catch her sounds. Tesseract and others had warned her of Viora's nasty little habit; but she was more excited to teach the pup than scared. Puppy teeth hurt but it was nothing she couldn't handle. Besides, she saw it as a sign of a budding warrior and absolute boredom. She herself did the same thing when she was little. Granted, she also explored avidly, she was known to instigate mock battles. At least try, anyway.
The scarred Hastati grinned as the monochromatic girl leaped through the air, mouth aiming for her back paw. While the leg itself was scarred, the paw was not. She easily side stepped, chuckling and turning to face her. "Hello to you too, Viora." She smiled, "I'm Jagger, your new teacher. In case the pup didn't know about her lessons, Jag figured it'd be best to tell her outright. While it was common knowledge she was now a pack member, she didn't know how many knew of her being a Hastati. While she didn't care for glory, it might out her in better standing with the Hastati-hopeful if she knew her teacher was a Hastati herself.
"Good form but you were a touch too high. Remember; low target, low attack. For a paw you don't so much as leap as dart." She said, giving her first piece of advice. "The paw is a good target though," she smiled. "If you wound your opponent's paw you'll have an advantage." Yes, she was telling the Biter of the pack how to more efficiently attack, but it was her job. "Teach Viora focus and defense" he said, and she she shall. She looked agile and swift, so she would spend more time on that aspect rather than just brute strength and power. And depending on how much muscle the little monster gained, she could be much stronger than she looked. Sort of like the reverse of Jagger. She looked a bit stocky thanks to her weight, but it was evenly spread, making her slender and lithe. But she was capable of good speeds, especially with an adrenalin kick.
Not afraid of her little teeth, she sat back on her haunches, regarding the little one with keen, mischievous eyes. "Tell me, what do you know of fighting so far?" She asked. She wanted a starting point, somewhere to jump off of. She didn't want to repeat things Viora already knew or start far ahead and confuse her.
She grinned slyly then, as if she was recruiting her for a secret mission or as if they were about to take off on a grand adventure. "Ready to start your Hastati training?"
