I saw a mountain lion crossing my road in Bernardston Ma on Sept. 17, 2013. I had a clear side view of it as it was crossing from one side to the other. It was about 75' in front of my truck. I was going very slow as the road is a dirt dead end road, I had a load of hay and was close to turning in my driveway. I immediately stopped when I spotted it. It looked at me for about 4 - 5 seconds and then took 2 long bounds and went into the woods which begin about 15 feet from the side of the road. I pulled up where it had entered the woods, stopped and tried to spot it (without getting out) but didn't see it. It headed in the direction of a farm set back about 1/4 of a mile. No question about what I saw, though. It was definitely a lion. Replies:
