Adina had never met a generous wolf with their meal. Usually they were aggressive and protective over any blood that they managed to shed. Wolves were picky with their meals, only sharing with family or mates, but this black female was quite the opposite. She seemed hard on the outside, what with her battle scars and thick muscles, but on the inside she was just as caring as Adina’s adoptive mother was. This rabbit was a live-saving gift, and Adina would never be able to repay her debt fully. She felt guilty for taking the rabbit now that a new wolf had swooped in and Jagger had shared the last half of her rabbit without a bite. She had given everything that she had to two…simple wolves. It just didn’t make sense. Adina’s eyes flickered to Jagger now and she could only stare with wonder. Perhaps it was a bit rude, but the white girl was curious. Jagger intrigued her. Had she been treated with such kindness that she felt the need to pay it forward or was this simply something that happened in this foreign place?
“I am new here, yes.” She was short with her answer, as to not cut anyone off. Adina learned that the other named Nootau was also new here, and they were all loners in this vast land. It wasn’t uncommon for homeless wolves to venture into the woodland, but the odds of three of them meeting at the exact same time were quite rare. Adina’s head cocked to the side at Nootau’s words. “You must be very adventurous then.” Managing a half-smile, she stood and shook her coat clear of snow clumps. The wind was growing increasingly harder and she guessed the final snow of the season was about to fall from the sky.
“Have either of you thought of joining one of the packs here?” With nose pointed to her left, she gestured in the direction of Glorall. “There are angels in the one farthest west I hear.”
