Nootau’s ears twitched hearing about Jagger’s den. He was surprised, actually. He had been under the preconception that all females made sure that their dens fit them plus at least a mate. He shrugged to himself. Well, he supposed that was just a characteristic of Jagger. He huffed in a grinning grimace when Jagger poked his shoulder again. Since he was still feeling somber, but was at least not grieving, his muscles were more active and he didn’t move away from her bump. Instead, he placed a paw on her shoulder and gave her a push, playfully shoving her away from him. “I’m still taller than you,” he retorted.

He glanced at her ravaged legs in that moment. His ears flattened to the side and he lowered his head again. She didn’t show the pain, putting on a brave face, but he couldn’t help feeling guilty. He opened his mouth to ask if he could do anything to help, but Jagger was continuing. Nootau paused and looked at her with wide eyes, his ears up. Was she… inviting him to Glorall? Oh gosh, she totally was. Nootau grinned and shook his head slightly to the side, looking away before looking at her again. How lucky was he to find such wonderful wolves when he needed them most? And how wonderful a wolf Jagger was! First, she gave up her meal, now she wanted to make sure he had a place to live?

With Jagger and Isola looking out for him… Nootau wagged his tail. What fortune. He barked in congratulations for Jagger’s rank. She had risen into the ranks quickly! It was obvious because she already was trusted to have an apprentice. “Well… I think I might become a part of the Diveen pack, but I haven’t really decided yet,” Nootau replied happily, “But the two are close! I could come and train everyday with you and Viora.” Nootau’s tail began to wag. Oh what fun this would be! He didn’t know Viora, but he was sure he would get along fine with her. It would be for to have another pup to spar with, too.

“In fact, let’s go meet Tess. Betcha he’ll beg for me to stay after he sees what I can do,” Nootau laughed and bounded ahead a ways, stopping a moment to wait for Jagger. He was pretty proud of himself for knwoing the direction to head in; Isola had been his teacher for where the packs were, and it was really convenient the two were right next to each other! The world, though harsh, had finally shown Nootau a paw of luck. With this new start, he would only have to work hard to keep it. And wolves would be liars if they said Nootau didn’t know how to work hard.
