The Tampa Fire & Police Pension Board Committee #1 met today to discuss the hiring of a Plan Administrator.
Plan Attorney Bob Klausner suggested to the Committee that it has been almost 2 months since Interim Plan Attorney Tiffany Ernst has been doing the job and there has been no problems arise and every thing has been smooth. Due to this, he recommended that the committee ask the Full Board to retain Tiffany as Plan Administrator and after 6 or 9 months, evaluate her performance for further retention as Plan Administrator. This will save our Plan $100,000.00 plus, ( one hundred thousand ) by not having to hire a Head Hunter Firm , advertising and not to mention the tedious task of a committee screening applicants.
Committee Chairman Mark McRae let all persons in attendance voice their opinion , the 3 Committee Members, the 3 Trustee,s not on the committee and all retiree,s who were present This was a welcome change from the past. Thanks Chairman McRae.
Attorney Klausner also recommended that the Committee suggest to the Full Board that a Chain of Command be established along with a schedule of Pay, Benefits, Duties & Qualifications for the Office Staff, be enacted so that present and future Trustee,s know what the Staff is receiving and their duties
Attorney Klausner also expressed that he thinks that the Pension Contract needs to be rewritten , so it is easier understood by laymen . I personally would have no opposition to this as long as it is for Future Recruits. I am happy with my contract and feel it needs no changing.

P.S. I found out from the Office Staff that there will be 3 candidates running for the position of Fire Trustee, now held by Mark McRae , Mark will run again .
