Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Black eyes flickered closed as the adrenaline high came to a close. Jago flicked his ears back, pinning them against his skull as he rested. He was not tired enough to sleep, no…but the silence of the forest was enough to drive anyone into sleep. With the herd of elk already gone, Jago had nothing else to keep him occupied. There was no home to go to and no pups to teach. There was nothing for the red brute here and still he wondered why he couldn’t help but stay. Perhaps he would settle a land here and grow a pack, or maybe he would stay a rogue for a few more weeks and move on again to never return. Lost in thought, the male drifted into a light sleep. His brother came into view now, playing with young Jago and teaching him to fight. Jago was such a small puppy when his brother was three. Inaeo never let him win but what brother would. His brother was his reason for becoming the tough wolf that he was now…but he hadn’t heard from him since the incident.

Within his dream, Inaeo stood beside his mother now. She had been weeping, that much Jago could tell. Jago was only a few months old now, his brain focused on play instead of more pressing matters. Jago’s father hadn’t been around in weeks, but he knew that he would be home soon enough. Inaeo whispered to his mother and she turned to walk away. “Mom no…” Jago whined. But it was too late. She disappeared in a flash of light.

What brought him back now was the voice coming from behind him. Jago snapped his head up and took a most protective stance. It registered that the voice was female and he could only wonder if he had whined in his sleep. Her words made his lips curl in a smirk. So she had watched him run down the elk…brownie points to her. He couldn’t see her, but he could smell her. The sweet smelling female hung back in the shadows, smart if she was alone in the woods. However, Jago would do nothing to harm her unless she seemed to be into that kind of stuff.

“I charge admission. What are you going to give me in return?” His voice was gruff, yet slightly playful. He wanted to lay black eyes on her to see what he was dealing with, but he knew she would come out in her own time. No one could resist Jago. Or so he thought. “It’s a shame I can’t put a pretty face with that lovely voice.”
