The end of my tail twitched as it lay across my paws, but it remained there rather than wagging across the ground. I smiled at his outpouring of words, unsure of himself and how he should address me. “Yes, of course you may call me Dany. I hope that I can count you as a friend, Dimas,” I said, looking upon him with my kind eyes. A soft sigh came to my lips as I took in our surroundings - the sectile edges of the leaves, the pin points of the pine needles - commenting on them thusly. It was refreshing to be here in these woods with a wolf I had met only moments ago. Before my fourth spring I hoped to know all of Moladion, to have ventured through every land that was free and to gain a tour of those that were ruled over by wolves other than my father. It would be easiest for me to start with Diveen, and I was certain the most difficult to gain entry to would be Iromar. All in due time, surely.

My gaze returned to him as he spoke, and I laughed lightly. Perhaps I was more taken with the beauty of the nature that surrounded me than others were given to be. But to have no home! No place to call your own; I could hardly imagine such a thing. Raised always within the care of a pack, I could not fathom life as a loner, as a wanderer. True it was just the way some wolves preferred to live, and I would never pass judgment upon an individual for choosing such a lifestyle. It just simply was not for me. “That must be quite…lonely,” I said, looking upon him inquisitively. Who did he talk to about his wonders and worries? Who did he run with in the hunt? Such joys are things I could not imagine living without – even though I had yet to be on my first proper pack hunt.

What was Spirane like? My, I could talk about the mountains for hours. But perhaps it was better to keep things brief – I did not want to bore poor Dimas. “Spirane is a beautiful range of mountains, covered in many trees and dotted with large rocks and caves. From her highest peak, on a clear day, you can see all of Moladion, so far as sunshine can reach.” With each word my smile broadened a bit more, and bits of my fur stood with electricity. I was ever so proud of my home lands, and speaking of them caused me a bit of excitement. I was so glad to be out and exploring Moladion today, but knowing that I would return to the warmth of my den that evening was a superb feeling.

My head tilted slightly to the side as I thought on the matter. Where would Dimas sleep tonight? Under a nearby tree? With brows furrowed, I decided against holding my tongue on the matter. “Do you like it, living on your own?” There was a chance that the question was a bit too personal, but I had yet to fully distinguish the boundaries of appropriate and inappropriate conversation.
