Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

So strange, he thought, that Glorall might collect so many timid, closed off wolves. It was curious to think of whether or not it had always been the case or if over the years, they had simply metamorphosed into such wolves. Salem had been aloof though not entirely as shy as, say, Alana. Considering the circumstances that seemed to shroud the small, mottled female though... it only made sense that she was so reserved. If there had ever been a moment where he wished Caligula had been able to express herself through her voice, it was a time like this. Surely a female would come as a more of a comfort than somebody such as himself. With the current situation, though, it was up to him to do his best to control the situation and prevent something like it from happening again. Her description had not fallen on deaf ears as he stared out over the sea in silence, eyes narrowed and brows furrowed. Yes, he did indeed know a wolf that fit such a description - still, it was a generic description, one he could not act upon without more... conclusive evidence. He wasn't sure how he would find such a thing but rest assured, he would. The sheer fact that she believed him to have followed her... if that had not risen red flags then he was unsure as to what would. Jumanji. To think he had tried to claim that he could be trusted around Caligula, too.

"Leave him to me, dearest Alana."

It was all he had to say on the wolf in question, attempting to steer the conversation from what had damaged her and, instead, towards damage control. He'd never been in a situation like Alana's and now, he was only hoping he could do by right by her and by the pack. By the look in her eye, he figured he'd at least said something right and that alone was enough to smile briefly over. It seemed there was a fighter somewhere inside her and he was adamant that he could bring it out.

"I shall be more than happy to begin teaching you the moment you are ready. I shall introduce you to Chickadee and my own daughter, Maradona. They are both learning Healing and I am positive they would be more than happy to teach you."

He frowned though at her mention of being useful - why did so many believe themselves to be useless? It was true that, often enough, there were wolves that had little value but... he did not see such wolves in Glorall. He saw such wolves in Vidar, perhaps, but certainly not a wolf who still had the courage to fight after somebody had treated her so wrongly.

"Your first lesson is to never doubt your worth, not around me at least. As for meeting your assigned - of course."

He wasn't sure who exactly to assign as a guard. He would have taken such a role but on top of his current agenda, he doubted he could do a satisfactory job and he could not expect her to merely follow him around all day with a child. He fell into silence for a moment, looking away from her as he considered the wolves he had. Jagger was, of course, proving to be more than loyal enough - as was Chickadee - though he wished not to burden either with too many tasks. Already, they were both assigned a child to teach... perhaps, he thought, Caligula might take such a role. After all, she would have their own children to care for and was by no means a woman to be trifled with. Tesseract might have proved his strength in a battle for dominance, but he was positive Caligula would have much more easily dispatched the previous Alpha. Ah, she was a warrior through and through. He fawned over the idea for a moment before shaking his head free of the distraction. He had at least come to conclusion on the beginning of their damage control.

"For now, would you like to move your den closer to my own? I am sure Caligula would love some company, and if you wish, I can certainly help dig you a new site."

He spoke with a small smile, his tail waving just so slightly behind him - expectant, always expectant though hopeful this time. That way, he figured, it was a potential win-win for all those involved in the little affair. Alana would be safe and Caligula would have company - it was the least he could do, right?
