hide from your family
they won't know you now
He’s been strikingly hard to like, as of late. The creature was able to make himself hard on the outside, tough as nails all the way through. There was so much grit, so much sawdust on the inside. He’d made himself sick over it so many times. That was all he could do, grit his teeth and wait for someone to chew through the sawdust. The ones that cared to, the ones that did, were few and far between. He knew that. It was what he’d gotten used to, what he’d gotten to live with over the course of time. Maybe that’s what happens when you’re too damn bitter to survive.
The creature watches the man, shifting even closer… close enough to touch. He needed to touch and to feel, and that was all he needed. Okay, it wasn’t all he needed. There was so much more that he needed, but it would never show. Dimitri had so many things that he would never let show through. He quivered. He quivered badly, and it was enough to drive him nearly mad from the inside out. Yes, he was mad after all. He had always been mad. Dimitri sunk ever closer to Devlin, tail flickering lowly. He needed the near contact.
The man speaks, and Dimitri is as drawn in as ever. His ribs move with his lungs, expanding and contracting. Everything is expansion and contraction. He’d been expanding for so long that maybe he’d burst after all. All he wanted to do was burst. Maybe if he burst, a blister badly overdue, then there would be something raw and new underneath. Dimitri was always raw, but to be able to feel again? To peel away the callous that had formed over… well, everything? “Alone, yet here you are... yet here I am.” He simply stated… yes, a simple phrase, an easy phrase, and here he was. He knew that full well. Dimitri just… wanted.
