Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Chickadee stood with a bundle of plucked lilac flowers at her feet, gazing up through the trees at a little bird. The bird was quite unlike anything Chicky had seen before, with mottled brown plumage and a long, thin beak. She was fascinated and a little disconcerted -- things in Glorall were typically so predictable, she took a special comfort in knowing exactly what sorts of flora and fauna to expect in her seaside home.

The bird fluffed itself happily, peering down at Chickadee with its beady little eyes. If offered a single, cheerful 'pip', as if it thought perhaps Chicky would like to have a chat. Chickadee whined, plopping her round hindquarters down into a heavy sit, and cocked her head at the little bird. Her tail wagged, shyly inviting the little bird to come closer -- but the language barrier was evidently too much for the odd pair.

After a moment, the strange bird seemed to shrug the wolf off, and took flight. Chickadee leapt up, gathering her lilac flowers in her mouth, and loped after it. She trotted easily on stocky russet legs, her head craned to keep an eye on the bird as it flitted away. It dove suddenly down into the thicker foliage, and Chickadee followed it with her gaze, startled as her eyes fell right across the form of a lone female wolf. She had been so caught up in her own thoughts, it seemed she had inadvertently wandered right into the presence of another wolf. Her heart leapt to her throat for one moment, and dropped her bundle of long-stemmed flowers in surprise.

"Oh, oh dear. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to intrude, I was.." Well what, now, Chicky? What had she been doing? Chickadee quickly closed her mouth, unable to come up with anything that wouldn't make her sound absolutely deranged. Her brows furrowed with embarrassment, and she looked quite flushed -- but ever the cheerful girl, Chickadee offered the female a nervous laugh. "Uh, I'm Chickadee."

It was then that she noticed the tiny bundle beside the strange female, and she took an uncertain step back. But her tail began to wave wildly with excitement, her eyes wide with delight. "Is that... is that yours?"
