Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Chickadee was completely fascinated by Starfall's eyes. She had been so involved in her own thoughts, so concerned with the way she was presenting herself and the mistakes she was bound to make, that it wasn't until quite late that she even noticed the shine of his beautiful, blue eyes.

Perhaps it was simply the way the sun caught in his iris and accentuated the faintness of his pupil -- but suddenly, Chickadee could not tear her gaze away. She watched, fascinated, as Starfall dug at the plant, hardly paying any attention to what he was doing at all. But after a moment, her mind began catching up to the things Starfall had said, and her tail slowly ceased its wagging as she attempted to make sense of what he'd said.

"W-.. wait. The trees can attack?" Her brows were creased with concern. She did not doubt for a moment that he was telling the truth; being relatively new to Moladion, and being entirely too trusting, Chickadee was apt to believe anything he would have told her. Her eyes widened, and she glanced uncertainly at the roots he had dug from the ground.

She glanced back at Starfall, and was surprised to find him staring right at her. Immediately, every thought in her head fell silent. She found her smile returning, her tail slowly waving absentmindedly. She wanted to laugh -- not a long laugh, but a shy, blushing half-laugh. Instead, she simply stared back, glowing and embarrassed and confused -- but happy.

It was then that she spotted a strange flash of black swooping toward Starfall, and her eyes shifted just in time to see the outstretched claws and the angry flutter of wings. Chickadee's mouth dropped open, and from her throat a small squeak emerged -- but she seemed otherwise helpless to do anything.
