Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Raki had not been quenching his thirst long when the snapping of twigs and faint whiff of pack alerted him to the presence of another wolf. He kept his head down, still drinking, while the young male showed himself. Although he couldn't be more than a year of age, he carried himself proudly. His white-and-russet pelt was immediately recognizable to Raki: he was of the Angels, despite the smell of the newly-made pack that he carried. Raki's lips twitched into a smile. The pack had not yet been created when he left Moladion, although there had been whispers of a new territory to be fought over. But that was a year and a half ago, and Raki was not surprised that it had come to pass.

He raised his head slowly, non-threatening, as the young male greeted him. "Good morning, young one," he replied, his tone gentle. There was an air of... something about the yearling, something that wasn't quite nervousness and wasn't quite excitement, that made Raki want to make him feel comfortable. The boy, too, seemed polite enough; the formal but friendly greeting he had offered told Raki as much.

The next few sentences caught him by surprise. His ears perked up, and he tilted his head slightly. The wolf raised some good points- why, though he'd been here plenty long enough before his disappearance, did Raki not belong to a pack? Why had he chosen this? Was it really a choice he'd made willingly? To live in solitude?

What sort of wolf would live alone voluntarily?

"Aehh..." Raki was momentarily lost for words. How does one explain to a wolf as young as this, as innocent, why there is no pack to which one belongs?
"That, child, is a rather difficult question. I did not choose to live alone-or, at least, I do not remember doing so- but as it happens I am currently seeking a home. Tell me, what is the name of the pack to which you belong?"
