You don't need to water to feel as if you are drowning (Party!! Any or All!!)

She fidgeted with her hair, her fingers pulling through copper tones. She sat, placed in front of a cracked mirror. Her makeup bag was sprawled out across the counter, foundation dripping down the cabinets. It had been a rough go at getting ready, and she was already swearing. Her hand grazed the brushes as she picked out a blush tool, searching through her pigments of pink for an effective colour. By the time she was done, Kevin was already asleep on her rickety cot, snoring once more.

She hated the company of her familiar, Kevin. He was annoying, selfish, and barbaric none the less. She was fed up with dealing with his jokes, and his annoying monkey habits. Such as, for example, leaving fruit peels around her small cottage. She had managed to find an old and dying cabin within the forest near the cove. Of course it was no castle, but that was where she was headed.

You look pretty, Chandler, a familiar male tone rang in her head. A smile crept across her face as she crossed her legs, continuing to fuss with the seaming on her dress. Thanks Kevin, she smirked, before returning her gaze to the reflection. She looked beautiful, definitely better than her torn and cut shorts, along with the rugged white tank top that had lived on her for years. Within her suitcase, she had managed to find an old but fancy clubbing dress she had worn out for weeks at one time. It was black, hugging her hips firmly as it went down, ending mid thigh. Her heels were petite red things, all she had left, but not bad enough to complain. Her makeup was average. All she had in her back pack was foundation, blush, bronzer, mascara, and a little bit of eyeliner. So, she used it all to her advantage. Normally, she would only wash her face and hope no one cute came across her. Other times, she would dazzle herself up and pray she got lucky.

"Now or never Kevin" she stood, balancing herself in her miniature pointy heels. Then, she began walking out the door, her monkey hot on her heels, heading towards a socializing seen.

Oh god, she would regret this later.

------

The big and giant door creaked as she pushed it open. Kevin hugged her leg in fear as they stepped onto the tiled floor and took a glance around. Music blared from within the castle, however the front door was unguarded and empty. Her fingers twisted as she played with her little purse, frantically fingering for her chap stick. Kevin handled his nerves another way, he sat on the floor and rolled his eyes. Ok, so he wasn't stressed... He was more angry that they got lost on the way here and now Chandler was too scared to go in. But really, was it all her fault?

Large drapes and pillars were all she could focus on, never mind the marble accents and floor to ceiling windows. It took her five minutes to step off the gigantic welcome mat, and when she did, the sound of her echoing heels nearly spooked her back out the door. She clenched her purse tightly, and resisted the strong urge to find some comfort in Kevin. She may not like him, but he was useful none the less.

The hallways were endless, and the only thing motivating the pair forward was the growing tone of the music. They began to see more life moving at the end of the hall, exiting and entering the ballroom with excitement. Drinks filled to the brim and girls squealing in happiness. Chandler felt out of her element, awkward.

"Excuse me" she sighed, squeezing through crowds of people as she fought her way to the table. Turning around, she didn't see Kevin. At least she was alone. She reached forward to slap some appetizers in her mouth before turning her back to the wall behind her, and facing the party.

This would be a long night.
