She tried to keep as silent as possible when she heard the footsteps approaching. As much as she wanted company right now, a stranger wandering the endless maze of caverns was either too stupid or too sex-driven to fit her tastes. Although it was fun to mess with the occasional horny brute... But nevertheless, she ceased her gnawing the instant she saw the shadowy outline that threatened the peace within her cavern. Eyes adjusted to the darkness took in the form, nares working at once to find it a male. Samus was surprised to find, though, that this was no young stud. Rather, he bore the smell of age, a wise sort of smell; but she could also sense the withering of his body, just as she was beginning to fade. She was a creature leaving her prime but still stubborn in thinking she was nowhere close to losing her youth. Muscles that were once so well defined grew slimmer by the day, movements beginning to slow. But don’t be mistaken; the demoness could still dance with death and come out victorious.

Now, her little visitor stopped at the mouth of the rocky hollow and took in the scene, as if inspecting the cold walls. Surely she wouldn’t be detected, couldn’t with the ledge shielding most of her form and the stagnant air concealing her own perfume. But he would not go, even after several seconds, and Samus had half a thought to suddenly leap down and scare the beast away. Limbs tightened slowly for the ambush, but just as she was about to spring, a step came resonating through the air. Everything went still, spheres tracing the charcoal movement. Lyrics were close to follow, words dripping with venom much like her own vocals, a sarcastic remark bouncing off the pitched walls and into her heightened sentries. Oh, so that’s how he wanted to play? A smirk rose to her face, invisible in the near black of the cave, but any creature could taste the attitude that rolled off her lips.

He padded closer and she rose, the movement knocking the bone from her perch to a noisy grave below. It clanged down several levels before giving a final bounce and rolling against the side of the room. Samus Aran held her form tall, proud, daring in the dim light. She turned on the narrow ledge, gracefully jumping to one just below; however she was still too high out of reach of the mystery male. She would have fun with this one, a boy who actually had some balls and dared to speak when all that signs pointed to the exit. He wasn’t a stupid pup or a lustful hessian. He would just quite nicely. “You better watch out old man, this ‘sweet checks’ can slice your jewels off in one bite.” She suddenly dropped down to her fores, a pose of play, paws dangling off the edge of the precipice. Her pools glittered deviously, jowls pulling back to reveal the magnificent ivories she had just boasted about. She usually wasn’t this kind of giddy, swaying her hips like she was a pup once again, but that’s what loneliness did to you. She was ill and needed treatment; this man could be the cure.

Without waiting too long for an answer, the huntress let lose another line of sarcastic wordplay. “What, you looking for a damsel to rescue in the oh-so-scary depths of the cave? Aren’t you a little knight.” She gave a slight chuckle at the end of her commentary, finally lowering the back half of her body to a more comfortable pose. Hopefully this boy would stay and play with her a while. She needed a good game.
