Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Three years ago? Had it seriously been so long? Shimza faintly remembered knowing that Cat wanted to find her own way, but she supposed she hadn’t realized how bad that wandering spirit was in her older sister. Shimza had always been restless, so she felt that her leaving had been expected, but Cat’s hadn’t been. She had always been more of a stationary pack wolf, like their father. Shimza had concluded when Cat had left that their mother’s bug had finally gotten to her. Well, needless to say, they were back together again! Look out, the golden coated sister duo were here! It was going to be such a good time.

Shimza lifted her head to catch Cat’s embarrassment about her tail. Oh dear. Shimza’s heart got heavy and felt as if it were going to fall out of her chest. Had she really had to make Cat embarrassed?! Shimza was sure her sister’s confidence in her looks was high, but why did Shimza have to be the one to constantly bash it? She supposed that was what younger sisters were good at. Eh, how to fix this? Shimza studied the coarse fur. Hmm. A little less shiny than it ought to be and a bit damaged from lack of care it looked like, but it wasn’t unsalvageable. Really, the shortened fur of her tail didn’t look all that unattractive… if a bit insulting that Cat wanted to be on “low profile” and hide her heritage. Shimza glanced at her sister again. Oh my, she looked so disheartened! She couldn’t act like mom and dad and criticize her! Well, pride in family heritage was not for Shimza to judge anyways (she left that to their parents even when they were alive) – she was going to concern herself with helping her sister feel better about the tail.

“Oh, psh, it’s an easy fix,” Shimza smiled and trotted up next to Catalina, “All it needs is a bit of product and good care and the fur, while forever short, will have a nice golden shine to it again.” Shimza lowered her head to be next to Cat’s. Her eyes darting from side to side as if to check if anyone was listening while a mischievous smile played on Shimza’s face. “You know what we need?” Shimza asked, whispering dramatically. She met her sister’s gaze with enthusiastic eyes. What with their tails being all in distressed states, their reunion, and a sunny day, the answer was obvious (to Shimza) right?!
