Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children

restless: i found your weakness

Of course she had noticed the change within him - how could she not have? She had practically been his ghost each and every day since the war; if she were not somewhere by his side then she was undoubtedly shadowing from a distance. It had fast become secondary nature to her, particularly with her youngest children having begun to seek more independence from her. Honestly, she detested the age at which they found themselves - yearlings were more adventurous than ever and were finally beginning to seek separation and whatnot. It was... agitating, and nerve wracking to imagine that they (like the others) might leave her alone in Iromar. Perhaps that is why she followed Paldor so closely, so obsessively. He was a permanent fixture, even more a part of Iromar than the mist it seemed. If all the others left then surely he would be there still.

No, she had not been requested to his side by either he or Ishtar but it meant little in the end. Ultimately, whatever Alpha blood still ran in her veins insisted that she not allow pack to enter new territory without her, and she desired to see first hand the new land and its leader. New packs had seemingly become a rare thing in the world and she was, perhaps, a little anxious over the change. Along with a new pack came the risk of more conflict and tighter competition for resources - it was enough to make any wolf on high alert. Thus, she had followed he and his makeshift group at a distance, remaining out of sight each and every turn of the way as she loped in the shadows. It was good, too, to finally leave Iromar once more after having spent so long tending to her own wounds along with her mate's - the world hadn't changed, and that was comforting enough. It was merely a new pack that they needed to investigate, and even she hoped for the same neutrality as Ishtar seemingly did.

At the border, she had broken away somewhat, placing herself at a comfortable distance where she might better watch the wolves of Iromar and Taviora. It also gave her the prime location to watch Paldor who ate more of his strange seeds, something that made her frown to herself in disgruntlement. The change in him had been bothering her for some time though she dare not bring it up with him - he was unlike so many others, and she did not wish to put strain on him anymore than his own mind did. For now, she was merely happy to remain as his guardian, ever watching and ever attentive. She had experience with these acts of diplomacy and if it came down to it, she would emerge completely - for now, she was but a ghost.

The first one came to her attention immediately for he was small, young, like her own sons. The red that marked his pelt had caused her to perk up slightly, a brow rising in curiosity as she watched him - his appearance was indeed familiar but the idea of an Angel-bred boy residing anywhere other than Diveen was an unlikely scenario, or so she thought. For the most part, they seemed to remain in their birth pack but still, she kept a keen eye on him as he spoke. He, however, was not so important for he was but a young boy, hardly the one to make decisions regarding alliances and the like. What was important was the Alpha, and no sooner than she had begun to contemplate on his identity did he show. Immediately, her head swung towards him, her eyes narrowed as she watched him - she felt her hackles rise slightly along her spine, anticipating the worst for her mate at that point. Ah, the male was indeed a familiar face; had she not seen him fight along side the Diveen wolves? Had he not been the one to put Chernobyl half way into the grave? If he had fought for Isola, than Ruvindra could only be safe to assume that he held a grudge over those that had aimed to decimate his once-Queen.

Still... she would not move. Her location was good enough; close enough to break the distance in some minute or two, but far enough away that she could hopefully evade being noticed until the time was right. Soon, she figured, but for now she would merely observe and hope for their sake, all grudges were put aside.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
