I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

It is still a strange thing to my mind, this business of being a loner. Raki is assured in that he did not choose this life and yet, to be of such an age and without pack I do not understand. Perhaps he did nto choose to be alone and yet, how does one live so long without choosing to find pack? My mind is young in this, not all things are so clear as one day they will be and perhaps this was merely my own innocence within the world at play, though surely I knew it not just yet. I am simply left to wonder why it is there are wolves who choose to be alone, who choose to live without pack or family though indeed perhaps once more this is a mere condition of my mind. For I have grown within the largest and most powerful of all packs, I have been raised from an age most young to value family above all and though I desire, for always, to make my own choices on the matters of thought in this life I would be given to lie were I to say I did not see my family, those who bare my blood��as my most treasured of things. My Sire and Dam, Kane and Isola are to whom I hold the greatest of loyalty, though surely that should be to pack�..perhaps that will come in time, as I grow and such things change. That which I love most in this world are my siblings, Achilles, Sage, Forfax, Ariel, Haziel and even those adopted into our fold, Baylee and Vega. I am drawn to my cousins and my uncles and aunts, a desire to be as they is a strong within myself and yet�.stronger still is a desire to be- different. There is so much I must do. For now though, I allow my thoughts to stay upon Raki and Coza as they speak, my ears held gently forward to listen with child-like curiosity as Raki lowered himself slightly and Coza invited him in.

I allowed my own tail to wave as I rose to my large, over-sized paws once more, aware that indeed, one day, I would stand near even in height and size to these two males before me, this knowledge an amazing thing to my mind for surely they were near some of the largest I had been given to witness, save for my grandparents and I find it most amazing to consider I should ever reach such a size when it seems my paws are two large and my limbs to long and ungainly. I moved to follow my chosen Alpha in this moment, pausing to wait for Raki, before stepping back over the line and into my forest home, white pelt aglow in the dappled light once more, russet markings dimmed as I so preferred, for indeed, if even for just a few moments....within the shadows I am�more content. I loped forward in this moment, moving to walk beside Coza today though not so close that I was given to ever step ahead of him, eyes of violet and blue lingering upon the trees and forests as we moved this day, my head turning back to Raki once more as I looked gently upon him.

I should like to say I have found one to join us and I should like, more so, to say I had made a friend all my own, for surely, that is what Raki is.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora�s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora�s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora�s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
