She was unaware of the eyes that had locked on her from behind until she hears the muffled thumps of his hooves coming up behind her. This was just the best day ever! She had only been out for a little while and now she had two new potential friends! She turns to look at this new horse joining them and… Oh. My. God.
HE WAS BLUE.
BEST THING EVER.
She is immediately jealous of the colouring, suddenly aware that her own rich bay (that up until now she’d been proud of) could potentially be construed as boring. And that just wasn’t fun at all. And then the blue stallion speaks and she is ready to hang off of his every word but… Something is wrong. The words that do come out are not very nice sounding. Her ears flick in confusion as she tilts her head. Where had that come from?
She then hears the black answer her question. So he is lost. Perhaps she could help him, offer him a home? But then, suddenly he is responding to the blue stallion, letting him know that death wouldn’t be bad. Well, this whole excitement thing just turned rather dreary. The bright bay girl does not let this daunt her, she just mentally steels herself to show them that life is for living! Not dying.
Since she has already introduced herself, she figures the black’s last words are for the malefactor blue (whose crime seemed to be moroseness). She is not put out by this, but instead ponders what has been said. Of course, she cannot keep her mouth shut forever. “I’ve almost died once. I was left out in the winter as a foal.” She has slowed down her speech as she thinks about her words before she says them. She does not know that Cavalli knows the mare who had left her. “I almost let it happen too. I figured to die would be an awfully great adventure. But then, the more I thought about it… To live would be an awfully great adventure too. And two adventures are better than one.” She is perfectly logical, as she sees it. She punctuates her words with a solid nod.
Joy!
and i'll be so alone without you
