Caladwen was still an unfamiliar face amid the mass numbers that choose to call this land home. Here and there she caught glimpses of them from afar, watched with wide eyed amusement and the slightest hints of envy as they romped and played together as friends, lovers, brothers and sisters. Even the ones who approached one another as strangers held something that she herself did not… reassurance… something that came with a home.
She sighed softly and continued to watch them from a nearby hillside as they appeared, coming in all directions and in all shapes and sizes. Carwen tended to keep to the shadows and only really move about at night, a concept which seemed perhaps a bit farfetched in this land of day walkers. As such she happened upon this little happy gathering by chance, this was the chosen resting place she had picked out the day before in her travels of adventure and discovery. It was by mere happenstance that it would seem some greater power whether gods or some inner workings appeared to have called them. None the less they came and for a while my little darkling contented herself with watching them. Some of them chose to wade into the shallows, splashing this way and that, chasing after the flashes of silver that though too far away to tell Caladwen feels almost certain must be fish. Others, seem content to just gather on the outskirts, as if they too are not quite sure what force has brought them here but feels it necessary to remain none the less.
For a time she herself ponders what to do, though she does not feel any force in particular or believed that the hands of the gods are at work none the less she is curious. She remains curled in the sheltering shadows of a densely leafed shrub for a time, her pink tongue lolling from her lips as she panted beneath the sweltering rays of the summer sun. She wanted to join them, wanted to see just what all the fuss was about but what excuse could she make? Surely they would notice her right away as an outsider but maybe just maybe she might be welcomed too. Resigned to this final thought, especially after the few friendly encounters she has made so far with Voltaire and Tesseract she makes her move. Sliding easily from beneath the thick screen of shrubbery Caladwen pads down the sloping hill with tail held high and yellow gold eyes searching each figure before her one after the other. She does not let her eyes rest on them to long but only long enough to ensure that there is none that take immediate dislike to my strange little black girl. Not quite brave enough or sure enough of herself to bolding pad amid the thickest gathered she rather skirts along the edge and works her way to the waterside. Slowly one step and then another with small muzzle down near its distilled surface she enters the shallows, her whiskers teasing and testing the crystalline surface. For a moment she stands there quietly, letting her peripheral vision drift out to encompass those nearest to her, ears tilting curiously in their direction. She laps absently at the water’s surface, drinking not out of need or desperation but out of lack of things to keep her occupied or to give her a reason for joining the festivities. Yet none the less she is here and she intended to make the most of it. Lifting her finely shaped muzzle she turns back to those gathered around the water’s edge, her yellow gold eyes glittering excitedly and ink black plume waving slowly.
