Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Her blood was alluring and sweet, but even the memory of it wasn't swaying his course right now. He'd love another taste, but there were other more pressing matters on his mind. Questions that needed answers, though even he could not resist some touch when he got ever so close to Fathom. He wanted to touch her all over, but there was another reason for the rub-down, too. As per style, Covet wanted to brush his scent all along her once again; a way to lay claim that wasn't rightfully his by any means. Yet he would consider it so, and there were so damn few that would sway his mind from that purpose. Possibly, say, three creatures that might be able to cause him to take a step back. Maybe. If they were lucky and he was feeling generous.

The snarl did not ward him off, though the sound did seem different from last time. He felt the brush of her teeth at his heels, but there would be nothing more than shallow lacerations at the skin. Some dislodged fur in the area. All of these things were acceptable, of course. Fathom's touch was regarded with a thoughtfulness in his mind. She'd gotten bold in the time he'd been away. Interesting. There was a residual shiver that ran along his spine from the warmth of her fur, and all he could do now was stare at her. Try to peer into her soul, peel back the layers as he looked at her, held the want to dig down deep and figure her out now that a year had passed and she had grown bold enough to bite at him when she knew from past expriences how he might react.

But Covet did not attack her this time. Not yet. If she gave a better reason, maybe that would come into play. After he got the answers he needed, unless that was the very reason for it. The question posed at him, however, caused his expression to shed the serpentine look for muted excitement, and then quickly after; uneasy confusion. "I have a son, and you lost him?" His hackles flared up and over the back of his neck and halfway down his spine. His lips pulled back from his teeth, not at all happy to hear of this. He had done all he could to save his children from becoming what he was by leaving, and now he comes to find that his son was lost? That was not cool. Covet was not happy by this news. At all.

Frustration went through him like a livewire. "I left to make sure my children did not follow in my pawprints, and I return to see if it worked to find that you lost my son?" He was seething, but couldn't properly focus it on her. He was concerned over that lost son now. "What does he look like, and when did he go missing?" Came the questions over the matter. Cover looked ready to turn tail to seek the boy out, though he had no idea how long it had been, and the fact that a pup alone at such an age probably wouldn't survive at all. Which still left a possible adopting of some other wolves, if the kid was lucky. Yet here Covet was, not at all okay with this turn of events. He hadn't expected this.
