For years on end my life had been nothing but Luna and my children and being the assassin I had meant to be, the assassin I still very much am, silent grace and swift killing and pride and honor is what makes me who I am, yes I have much blood on my paws, but that is what my occupation means and everyhbody knows this, after all everybody sees us as these things. If only they knew more than just the surface of things. I wonder what this girl knows about us, or maybe she knows nothing at all. My ears perk as she repeats my name, the one I so proudly carry everywhere I go, the one that now only she has the right to say in tenderness, something that my daughter undoubtedly views as wrong. Amusement and open welcome shines in my dual toned eyes as they meet hers, tail waving slowly, as she voices that I am indeed welcomed to stay for a while. I recline back onto my haunches, relaxed and easy going. Just this simple companionship I can enjoy, after all I need nothing more.
I am very easily content these days, I don't need a high position and I don't need power to enjpoy where I am or who I may find myself with, those were perhaps my younger years. I pay attention as she mentions Diveen next, and the fellow pack member Voltaire, and at last her name. It is a strange name to me, and yet one I can appreciate. Not one of those names that is to be recycled every few generations, and it has not been a name I had yet come across. That doesn't happen often. I am pleased that she is truly an original being, as far as I am aware.
She rises once more and to my surprise seems content to move herself closer. I tilt my head to look at her even more curiously, interest continuously garnered by her, also something that does not happen to me often. Half a smile has formed on my face, almost as curious as a pup new to this world, and she voices a question I immediately answer, "I am your imprint. It's like soul mates if you know of those. It's not the easiest thing in the world to explain."
Silvery grey tipped body is still as a stone, hopefully my explanation provided at least some form of understanding for her. I could have done better admittedly, and then she surprises me even more by actually wanting to touch me. Her touch causes me to shiver, and that's something not even the worst moments in my life can accomplish. It's not really the bad shivers of course, it's more like released tension and happiness if that makes any sense to you. I blink as she pulls away once more, not confused but once more just so damned curious. "It's okay." I watch her closely and intently, almost as if I was now expecting nher to surprise me.
