Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Who hadn't entertained the thought of sleeping next to another? Everyone at some point invariably thought about it, maybe not wanting it but just wondering what it was like. Even she. When a pack gave her shelter and allowed her to stay with them she would curl up somewhere, preferring not to take a den, and watch others turn in. She'd watch the mates cuddle close to one another, sharing body heat even in the hotter months. And she'd wonder, idly, what it might feel like and be like. She didn't imagine it very comfortable when the weather was hot, stuck in a stuffy den with double the fur. She wondered what it might feel like feeling and hearing another's breaths and heartbeats.

Right now she could hear her own heartbeat in her ears, fight or flight kicking in. Below them the waves lapped serenely at the sand, oblivious to the ordeal going on above. Her eyes glowed in the moonlight, electric blue things like the little bioluminescent creatures that called the deepest ocean depths home.

She couldn't help but give him a deadpan glare when he grinned, not amused. "Why are you here? Or do you make it a habit to stalk people and then sleep in their den without permission?" There. She'd admitted the obvious that the cave was hers as much as the spartan den down below them. Granted she usually only used this den to stargaze and keep a lookout since it was a vantage point.

His comment about missing her made her lips twitch, giving him a quick flash of fang as she tried to bury a growl. Although truth be told she missed his touch already too, though only because he was warm, she lied to herself. Not because she felt at ease and even happy near him.

Cold started to creep into her, pricking her skin, as her warmth seeped into the stone under her claws. This was nothing new, and she knew from experience that as long as she curled up and didn't move eventually her heat would come back to her and gradually warm the rock beneath her as well.

She stubbornly refused to move even though he listed off perfectly logical reasons to sleep next to each other. Her form was rigid and tense like she was trying to be as still as possible. No, she would not go to him. Nope, not gonna happen.

At least not until he explained himself anyway.
