Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The world is wide and endless. There are so many things to touch, feel, taste- to learn and experience. Andromeda had taught the small white star-touched angel marked girl that very early on, and from the time that she could see clearly and walk comfortably, she had taken every advantage of it. She did not speak much, or often at all, for Ambrosia was more apt to simply observe. She spoke when it was needed, but did not tend to offer her voice just because. Deciding that the forest was something she wanted to get to know, she had gone from the den within the heart of Diveen and to the West, making her way through the unknown and taking everything in as she went. At one point Andromeda had met her, and they had shared their moments of peace and tranquility with one another, questions and thoughts passing between them. And then she had delved further into the forest, and it was there that she noted that the usually so strong scents of Diveen were older, perhaps less traveled here. And then all at once it was obvious that little Ambro had come upon the border of the territory itself. She had never been this far from the den before, and of course had never stepped foot outside of the packland.

She did not really plan on starting the habit on this particular day, but a movement through the foliage caught her attention. It appeared almost as if something was being tossed, and repeatedly so at that. Tilting her small white skull first to one side, and then the other, her exotic gaze observes for another few moments. To go, or not to go. She knew she probably should not and that her Mother would be quite worried if she found out about it, but her curiosity was getting the better of her. She wanted to know, and Andro did encourage her to learn after all. And what could it hurt being just a little ways outside the border? If need be she could always retreat back within the pack and find safety within the trees she was fast coming to know. She was a smart girl, though young, and it led to the fact that she was still learning and had much to learn. But what better way to than with trial and error? Ambrosia enjoyed the paws on approach, and thus she found herself passing over the border and slowly making her way over to where she had seen the movement. She kept quiet as she went, not barging through and making it obvious she was there, rather, she moved stealthy though the foliage until her violet gaze could make out what was ahead.

It was another wolf, young, by the looks of him, but of course older than herself. She had not even yet reached a full year, but it did not bother her. It wasn't even something that came to mind as she watched this other. With her bright, intense gaze accented with green and orange focused on him she held still for a moment before being unable to help the slight tilting of her skull. What was he doing, this strange stranger that was so pale and like her but not? He was continuously pushing dirt behind himself with his paws, and occasoinally flinging it into the air at the same time. It seemed he was doing this around a bush of some sort, with what look like used to be flowers on it. The leaves are drying out and beginning to curl at the edges, though Ambrosia knew they had once been a livid and lively green. What could he possibly want with it? She was tempted to ask- she almost did voice her curiosity, but she held back. She was content to watch him and see what he would do next. If he noticed her and approached her with friendly intent, and spoke to her, she would return the gesture. But until then she was content in her silence.

After all, she did not know if he was good, or if he was bad. Or if he was even considered either, as Andro had taught her. Everyone had their own opinions of good and bad, it simply depended on your own mind and how you viewed things. But Ambro knew she could find out, if she were to meet him and observe him. Or perhaps even in this time now, her watching of him before he even noticed her would tell her. He was panting at this point, with his tongue lolling out the side of his muzzle. He seemed tired and proved her thoughts correct when he ceased his actions and moved back to shake his fur out and then set to grooming himself. Andromeda had groomed her several times in such away, and she had never minded it. Her siblings had all squirmed and whined when it happened, trying to get away, but she had always remained content in it. After all, when it was all over and done with Ambrosia rather liked the pretty whiteness of her pelt, as it was all she could se of herself beside the light dusting of grey upon the top of her muzzle. The rest of her markings, the splashes of auburn against her chin and between her shoulders were out of sight.

But her Father had remarked of them before, almost as if he were boasting about such a thing and she could never imagine why. They all looked different, though some were more similar than others- but Ambrosia found them all equally better. What made someone better than all the rest? Perhaps it was like the idea of good and bad that Andro had spoken of- that all beings have their own opinions and thoughts. Like the boy before her. He was pale, marked by almost the same colour only darker shades and on various parts of his body. Ambro liked the way he looked, and found him rather pleasant to look at. She wondered at what colour eyes he would have, if they were simple like Andro's lemon yellow or complex and intricate like her own. Again, there was a slight urge to approach him, to get him to look at her so she could sate her curiosity, but still she remained where she was and completely silent. It would depend on him and his actions and reactions if she were to stick around and figure out who he was.

But if he was something she viewed as not good, as bad, she would immediately turn tail and find her way back into Diveen. She was a smart and curious girl, but she was also cautious. She knew to keep herself safe, for she did not know what it would do to her Mother if she were to become lost. She knew an older brother from a previous litter had taken his leave without a word to anyone in the family and it made Andro sad. Ambro never wanted to make her Mother feel such away, but a little curiosity never hurt anyone. Right?
