Re(5): Is there any reason why Duke can't just shoot them both already? Posted on November 11, 2013 at 00:53:58 AM by D
Not to sound sexist or anything , but it just seems to me that all of the head writers today are mostly men. My question is can men really write romance the way women can? Back in the day when Monty was in charge we got really good romance stories and thus the super couples were born. . I honestly don’t think we will ever see that kind of romance writing again. Today all we’re getting is mob madness and lunacy with villains providing comic relief. Faison the comic isn’t what made the character unique, it was his sinister and obsessive behavior toward Anna. Robert was a real man’s man back then putting his family and those he cared for first. His love for Anna was apparent and ran deep even when he was in denial at times. Duke and Anna’s love was strong as well and so was Luke and Laura, Frisco and Felicia. This is why most of us watched soaps for the great love stories. As flawed as the characters may have been at times, we knew the love they all felt for each other was enduring, everlasting, and ultimately withstood the test of time not to mention many obstacles. So where are all the great love stories today? I don’t see any. What we have today is a mild version of the “God Father” and the “Sopranos” mixed in with “Jerry Springer” cat fights.
