Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Coza felt his fangs make contact, even though he felt the wolf’s thick fur he knew the scrapes would hurt. He had seen how fluffy the male was, and though it was advantageous it could not shield him completely from his long canines. He tasted the iron of blood and the hard feeling of bone. He had missed though it would still be enough to hurt him. Coza was not one for feeling victorious when he tasted the blood of another or the mad bloodlust that often came with battle. He felt honestly bad that he had the wound the other, his ears pinning his ears against his head but eyes burning with determination to win and continue this fight. His fangs grazed off his shoulder, not doing as much damage or grabbing onto his flesh like he had wanted, but he was not over with all of his retaliations.

His next move went in he watched as the male tried to move away from his second close range attack and this time he wasn’t so lucky. He grabbed onto the scruff of the male and really what saved him from taking more damage was his weight and ability to still himself. Coza on a normal wolf that was smaller and lighter than him could usually pull them upwards and dangle them, but Bone’s being of his size and weighing more it was an impossible task this time. Not that it wouldn’t hurt or damage him. He yanked away feeling a bit of fur and flesh come with him, spitting it out and seeing the male drive his head forward towards him.

He barely had time to react to him, seeing him dash down to grab his leg in an attempt to again make him lose his footing. It would not work this time. Feeling the males fangs grip mid leg just at the bone the brute yanked his leg back as Bones tried to pull it under him. It was quick and causes four clean gashes to come across the left leg. It stung and quickly he felt warmth around the wounds and knew they were bleeding. He growled gritting his teeth as he kept a careful eye on the others movements. He watched as Bones moved, aiming to do similar to what Coza had just done to him. His muzzle tingled and his leg hurt and the male wasn’t about to take any more damage.

He took a quick step to the side away from bones, his hurt leg searing as he did so. He did his best not to favor it though it showed that he did. Still it was enough to escape the other male’s fangs as Coza heard the satisfying sound of fangs click in the air as he took just a few of the longer furs around his neck, he wouldn’t be taking any flesh there today and Coza was ready again to step forward and begin his assault.

He was sure the other male was aching and it was his turn to finish this. He first used their parallel position to his advantage though his neck was no longer in reach the hock of his leg certainly was. Coza snapped down attempting to grab the closer back leg and then drove him own form forward attempting to drag him and make him fall to the ground by pulling his leg out and back. Another side affect could be popping the leg out of place temporarily as he did so, though it wasn’t quite as likely.

If he fell Coza’s next attack would be a fairly obvious one, he would place himself over the male and bite and hold him on the ground by his scruff forcing him to submit or else feel more pain to the already tender area he had bitten before. Should he not fall, well there would be another entirely different course of action.

If bones managed to remain upright or escape the first attack completely he would turn himself around and move as quickly as he could forward. He anticipated that the male would have turned around or moved forward himself to dodge leaving them front to front. Regardless of his positioning Coza would bowl forward with all his might jaws wide and aim for the very throat of the male. He would not kill him but choke him until he passed out using Bones’ thick fur to his advantage for this, to buffer his fangs from penetrating his jugular. Should he miss the jugular he would again show no mercy and tear at whatever it was he did grab leaving as many gashes and wounds as he could on the male. He really didn’t want to kill anyone ever, Coza just wanted all of this to be over and for him to still remain as alpha of the lands.

His muzzle and leg ached and burned, but they were both trivial to the feeling of pain he had experienced in the past. Once this was over he would allow for the pain to more greatly show and bother him, both woulds would not kill him though both were deep enough to likely scar should they not be treated properly. Moth or Sen would make sure he was okay and if this brute allowed he would see that they would care for his wounds as well. He was not a bitter creature by heart and perhaps that gesture would show the male that not only was he strong, but gracious as well. Of course all of that was only if he won this battle.

-Attacks 3&4 completed, 1/1 Full Dodges used, 2/2 half dodges used, 1/1 Full hits Taken-

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
