The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

I simply cannot help myself. When the scents of Henadin and Channing reach me, I can't help but head toward the borders. I know why they're here. It has been ample time since she gave birth to get the pups grown and off her milk so they can hold up their end of the bargain. Delivering a pup to Kershov's door. There's something ironic about this, I'm sure, but my face is impassive as I head toward them. A part of me does feel compassion for the couple for doing this, sure that it's killing them to think about leaving their child anywhere, let alone a place like this. It doesn't exactly scream warm and cuddly but we're the safest place the pup could ever be.

I don't kow how well the other end of the bargain will be held up but that's not my concern. Whether Kershov brings one of his brood to the Saw Tooth pack is yet to be determined and if he lets them visit after this falls in his hands, that and his mate. I saw the way he acted around Scarlet at the last meeting. He did not lean on her as his puppet, but as his equal. The message was crystal clear. I don't see anything to dislike about her so all its going to take is time to get to know her and her personality, to see if we'll click or clash.

I can smell Marx there already an my tail gives an involuntary swish. I haven't seen him since our night in his den. He's mostly out training with the soldiers and I can't blame him for that. He has a job to do. I've been doing border patrol but they've been pretty quiet as of late.

Scarlet is there as well, I can already see her russet red robes. She seems to be toying with the pup, a mischeveous gleam in her eyes. Deciding I can do the couple a favor and 'save' their son so to speak, I step up beside Marx and lower my head to the pup's level, a reassuring smile on my face.

"Welcome to Abendrot, Roheryn. I am Enigma. Would you like a tour of the pack?"

Distraction, a good tool, I've heard. He may be adventurous and totally forget about the fact his parents are leaving him here or he might be clingy and that will make this that much harder. I can only hope he sees that I have no ill intentions and that I only wish to ensure his safety until Kershov sees him.
