Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Friends - if only she could hear such a word emanate from within Spirit. The very core of Niviaq was based off such an idea, off the mere sentiment of friends. Such a word though seldom encompassed what such a thing meant to her, though, for she had seldom friends and more often, she considered themselves extensions of her very self and family. Then again, perhaps it was better off Spirit's thoughts remained silent for the time being... some were not so used to such intensity, after all. There were many wolves, or so Niviaq figured, that would not enjoy the affection and unending concern that came from her.

Of course, it would be up to Spirit just how fast she would (inevitably, according to Niviaq) become the silver wolf's friend. The moment she spoke of swimming, she had every inch of Niviaq's attention focused on her, her tail thumping in the tall grass behind them excitedly. A connection... she liked the sound of that and smiled wide, nodding with enthusiasm.

"The water is healing; it connects us all through such a power, I believe. Everything needs water - it heals, it endures even the coldest of winters."

It reminded her fondly of the male Yojimbo, who she had met some time ago by a river just as she was now with Spirit. Perhaps that was proof enough that the water was important, that it brought with it good - it sounded like a good enough reason to love it. And just like water, she had been frozen and now, she was beginning to thaw, to break free of the fear that had haunted her since the destruction of her first home. Speaking of homes, she had not noticed the slight hesitation of her companion when she had offered her a visit to Spirane - she had been too excited over the the prospect of it all. She was a proud wolf when it came to her pack, taking particular joy in sharing her pack mates with others; she figured, if she loved them so much, others would surely do so too.

"Please, consider nothing a burden when spoken from me. I would be honored to show you Spirane, and I am positive Alcide and the others would love to meet you, too."

She smiled wide, flashing her teeth with another ecstatic wave of her tail - a wave that grew even faster with intensity when Spirit spoke of swimming. Before she could even answer, Niviaq found herself on her paws, stretching out her legs and bouncing slightly on the spot in eagerness. It had been such a long time since she had been able to enjoy swimming with another!

"Perhaps a little race to warm us up?"

She grinned playfully, her ears flashing back as she wiggled, falling into a play bow. Of course, she doubted she stood a chance against Spirit - even though she had always been quick on her paws, she had not done such grueling work for some time and had fallen somewhat out of shape. It would be good, though, to have a reason to race about once more and besides, it was always polite to allow younger wolves the pleasure of victory, no? If Spirit darted forward, Niviaq would soon follow, always ensuring to be a pace or two behind, her steps bouncing and bounding before colliding with the water; it sprayed up around her, a shrill, girlish laugh erupting from her chest as she sunk down into the cool water. She moved through it, her tail seemingly working as a rudder as she bounced along the rocky floor, circling about Spirit.

"I must say - a swim is made a thousand times better with good company!"

She laughed once more, bringing herself to a shallower part of the river before she leapt once more into it, once more causing an eruption of water. How fun it was to feel not only the sensation of the water along her skin and fur, but to watch as the droplets fell, pitter-pattering around them and breaking the otherwise silent world around them.
