Apollonia’s russet pelt shimmered in the sunlight, its rare coloring glimmering in the bright light of the star that shone in the sky above her. “Stupid daddy…” She swept her paw at a rock, sending it flying. Her father had fought for the health and leadership of their pack and had lost. He had yet to return to the land though. In fact, the land had been quiet and still. The queen was hidden away in her den with the princess, awaiting the arrival of the new Alpha, whoever they be, and so Apollonia had began to get restless. Her best friend, Lokii, had disappeared as well, and the russet faeling had been avoiding Lolita, still mad at the words that the ess had spoken when last they spoke. She would not be the first to apologize. It would not be her.
The teen took off, digging her claws into the dirt and galloped across the land, her pads hitting the earth silently. She had grown since her father been gone, and in order to impress him when he returned, she had been practicing her lessons, which had done much to reshape her body. It was lean and muscular. Her agility had increase dramatically, she was able to weave in and around obstacles with easy. She was able to go from standing stock still to running full out in mere seconds, and was quiet. Very quiet. But in her heart she was light and playful and loving and naïve. She was innocent of the ways of the world, and little did she know that it would get her into trouble.
Her paws led her over rocks, streams, and around trees. She knew not where she was going, but only knew that she could not stay within the territory for one moment longer. She came to the edge of Cold Summers and looked around – she had not dared to exit the terra before, but with how quiet the land had been, she felt encouraged. Slowly, one leg at a time, she crossed the invisible boundary that had grown weak and feeble over time. After all four feet were past it, she smiled to herself, bounding forward. She would flee from the land, for now, until her father returned. Let him fret about her for a time as she had been fretting about him. As she ran, she laughed – her body was finally healed from the fall that she took off of Rainbow Cliff, and she was finally free to move gracefully and with ease.
Apollonia kept running, until she was winded, and collapsed in the beautiful meadow of flowers that she had ended up in. Where she was, she knew naught, but she felt free for the first time in the longest time. With a sigh, she rolled onto her back and grinned up at the sky with orbs brighter than the sun itself and greener than the purest of emeralds. Freedom…
Soon after, she had met a brute, but the meeting had been brief enough, and so once more Apollonia had searched out adventure. It seemed to her that no one cared for her or about her whereabouts. Even strangers left her. Feeling lonesome and utterly alone, for the two were not in fact one and the same, she began to ascend the Misty Mountain. She had never seen its peak, for her adventures had often led her to the top of Rainbow Cliff instead. Perhaps today was the day for it.
She made short work of it, and upon reaching the top, was surprised by the presence of another. He held the same handsome form that Axel had worn – that of a kalak. Attractive, graceful, flawless – all of these were traits that they held. Though she was depressed, she plastered a shy smile upon her maw, her emeralds twinkling, and approached him. “Hello, I’m Apollonia. What is your name?”
