Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

What a Wicked Game to Play -Alpha-

The clouds overhead were all consuming, a deep slate gray that was heavily pregnant with rain, or more likely sleet in this late autumn season. The wind that blows across the marshy tundra land was chilling, though my thick obsidian hide did well enough to insulate the majority of my body heat. I moved with a predatory cunning, muzzle tipped low, sleek torpedo like cameo wholly focused upon this new territory of Moladian. Radars pricked forward atop their turrets, listening for any signs that a border patrol or hunting party was in the immediate proximity.

All seemed silent and tranquil, but looks are more often then not deceiving, and I had no plans to fall into an ambush today. I know little of this Taviora pack, but I felt no more calling to Glorall. Makism has not been alpha there for some time and I was not comfortable remaining so close to Diveen's borders. I knew this pack to be Allies with them, and therefore the likelihood that I might run into a certain devilish black wolf from their territory on the field of combat was slim to nothing. I could not risk Devil finding out I was still alive, nor that I had returned to the realm of Moladian.

I continued the ritual of using black charred ash and soot to cover the golden splash that swept across my left eye like a lopsided tiara. The many months out in the nameless places beyond had covered all traces that I had ever been a wolf of Diveen or even Glorall, and often I covered my own personal fragrance with the blood of my prey, so that none would be able to recognize or track my scent. As far as anyone in Diveen was concerned, Kiska was Dead and gone. I intend for it to remain so.

Years have passed, and I am not the same wolf I had once been. I was still a Warrior, a strong proud woman... But years beyond the regions of Moladian had hardened those parts that had grown soft under the liege of Paracon's Samurai King. My children were grown, my Lover gone. I had little to peak the compassion within my tattered Soul and so instead I had tempered the mettle of my grit. Sharpening my claws and fangs in the bones of my prey and adversaries.

My frame was sleek as a sword blade, sporting the curves of a corvette and long lithe limbs that carried me across the Earth with all the eerie silence of a Wraith from the Dead. My stature is an imposing one, even by the standards of most males. At 44" I topped out as a monolithe from genes that dated back well into the ice ages, back before time was written or cataloged. I tipped the scales at very near 200 lbs, but such weight was evenly dispersed across my frame in overlapping layers of compact muscle that flexed and coiled neatly beneath the oily iridescent sheen of my corsets.

Mismatched eyes scope out the scenery with shrewd calculation. One sphere burned with the molten heat of a blazing forge wilst the other sparked with a glacial blue light that was diamond hard. I'd found a perch in a massive conifer that had fallen askew into it's fellow spruce trees just along the border of Taviora. The great tree's trunk now rose at a 45 degree angle and allowed me to climb up it's wide trunk and get a nice bird's eye view of the interior of the territory. Scent markers radiated from around the trunks of the trees, very recent. Someone was nearby.

I was not the kind of wolf who simply came cavorting into another wolf's territory, nor was I the kind to announce to the whole pack of my presence and demand an audience with the alpha. No, I was a patient wolf. I would bide my time at the border until the right opportunity presented itself. I stretched out along the expanse of the tree, it's trunk sagging under the heft of my weight, but it held true. And thus I simply waited, waited to see who, if anyone should happen by.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
