Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Sinclair
Then the Strongest Heart Grows Old
Sinclair trotted behind his mother, taking in the island with wide, curious eyes. He occasionally darted off into the weeds after small rodents, but he never strayed far. Sadly, the little critters were much to quick for him and his pretend efforts at hunting were fruitless. He stuck close to his mother's hind legs, however, when they neared the former pack's dens. Sin gazed around the sight, thinking it surprising familiar. He had expected something more mystical, he supposed, but it reminded him of the main land. It had the same foliage, similar smells, and ordinary animals.

Sin had paused to scan the clearly, imagining the pack that might have lived here, so he didn't realize his mother had left him in the center of the small field until she spoke to him. It took him a moment to locate her on top of the tell rock, and he bounded up it's side moments after her invitation. He sat down besides Sinopa. His head, he noticed, was up to her chest! He was getting bigger and he hadn't even realized it until now. He grinned at then looked out at the field again, feeling very princely atop this overlooking peak. His mom, he decided, must look like a regal queen. His tail waved happily before she began her story.

He recognized the names of Devil May Cry and of Heyel. Obviously because one was his grandfather and the other had been a close friend of his. Sin hadn't known about Lucian or Boneclaw, but he logged their names so as to pay respect to the alphas of the past. Arsenic was name unknown to him, but the name Jaidah sent a shiver down his spine. He had heard rumors of her son, Tobias, and feared the wolf without a soul. Not really because the wolf was cannibalistic, but more of the fact that forever, it would be impossible to reason with the wolf.

He was happy that his mother decide to end the introduction of the old Moladion alphas with the name of a kind one, Starshade. Sadly, Sin had no knowledge of her, but he found the way his mother spoke of her comforting. He wagged his tail at the meaning of Sinopa's name. It fit her perfectly. He tilted his head at the meaning of his. He liked that. In fact, it was strangely validating. Working hard was already ingrained in his system and it was amazing that he would develop as he had to fit the meaning of his name so perfectly. He would do his best to live up to his name.

He whined quietly at the grief that passed through his mother's voice as she spoke of the death of Zeviah. If he could have, he would have brought his grandmother back from the dead for Sinopa. He could understand her need to leave that sadness behind her. He glanced in the direction of the sea at the mention of how it reminded Sinopa of Zeviah. Well, it would always remind Sinclair of Sinopa. He would never forget the way the sea parted before her. He returned his violet and red eyes to his mother when she continued on in a grave manner. His eyes widened with sympathy for his mother. He imprint and soul mate were taken? For a moment, he blamed his aunt Isola, and then also Kane. But just as quickly, his anger dissolved. Sinopa let them stay together for a reason... they must be happy together. Sin looked at his paws, struggling between feeling anger, sadness, and understanding at the situation which Sinopa described.

And suddenly, the perfection of his mother became not so pure. His picture of his mom seemed shattered in the couple of minutes he took to process everything. He was... a product of her grief and rebelliousness? Sinclair looked away from her for a while, trying to puzzle together why he felt so violated. Anger filled his chest at the immaturity of his mother! But just as soon, he squished the feeling, knowing he couldn't understand the heartbreak she must have felt knowing that she would never truly have her soul mate. But why not?! If she called, her imprint would come running to her... but Kane was mated to Isola, her sister. Was Sinopa choosing to suffer so that her sister would be happy? He blinked, and was surprised at a few tears that escaped his eyes. And with those tears, Sin thought, maybe, he could grasp the desperation of his mother. It was a while before he was able to work through what he immediately felt and what he knew actually mattered to him.

He look at his mom, and then pressed his nose comfortingly into her leg. "Te amo" I love you, He told her, "Ut ne male sentias" so please don't feel bad. He wandered if he should ask if this was also why his extended family every visited, but he decided to remain quiet. He didn't want his mom to know how he was feeling because she was feeling so terrible already. She had suffered quietly for so long and he felt guilty for never noticing. He wanted to make it up to her now.
