At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

YOUR KNIGHT IN RAINBOW ARMOUR

The knight rose, his muscles poised to attack the darkened beast that had made the foolish decision to disturb their peaceful tête-à-tête. Perhaps in ordinary circumstances, Amatus would have smiled and welcomed the company with an invitation to sit. But he recognised that scent. It had not been far from the time when he had first inhaled the cologne. A few days before they had made the wise decision of joining Spring Grounds, and the declaration of his love, they had been stalked. Wherever they had travelled, the intimidating presence of the stranger was not far behind. And though Amatus had never caught any distinguishable sights it was evident that this fiend was the same threat. He would get his answers, for both of their closure.

Poison salivated from the very words he spoke; they fell upon his auds like unwelcomed guests. When the darkened beast edged closer to him, a growl of low baritones rumbled from his throat. Yoki’s father… oh yes he knew all about that. The way that his dearest beloved had been treated sickened him, the way that one wolf could be so vile angered him. He could surely not be a part of this world, for he was positive that ordinary wolves would be able to withhold some feelings of regret, some emotion of compassion. But this brute had no amiable countenance about him, only spite. He showed only a disguise of charm, and immediately Amatus was thankful of Yoki’s trust in him. Had her reluctance to share her past with him prevailed, he would have surely succumbed to the charms of this monster.

“Yoki’s father?” he repeated. He spoke in sourness, but he remained steady and could have so easily been mistaken for friendliness, but every now and again a tremble in his voice would reveal hidden anger. “Ah yes,” he commented. “Yoki has mentioned a little about you.” He stepped forward, muscles tensed beneath a motley coat of fur. He pressed his face closer to the ashen beast. “Issues about the way you treated her, the nights of endless torture for a wolf that deserved none of it. I will not let her endure more pain.” His voice was laced with a tone of threat. “I am not one to be trifled with old man. So I suggest that you get your sorry ass out of here. You don’t deserve such a beautiful daughter as Yoki, and the fact that you are related astounds me for I can see not one trace of your evil self within her.”

Amatus was grateful for the strenuous days he had spent occupied with the training of his body. Through thick mottled fur, they were not on clear exhibition but his muscles were reformed and better than they had ever been. The knight had never fought before, but with the thought of Yoki within his mind he was prepared to do anything. With a pitiful background of pain and torture, Amatus was not prepared to allow her to fall back into the clutches of his cruel paws again. If his death prevented that from happening then he would happily seek out death. Whilst growing, he may have had a sheltered life but he was certainly not a coward. If anything, the innocence of battle only spurred him on. He did not doubt his confidence; he did not think to reflect on his inexperience. He just knew it was the correct thing to do.

It was evident that Yoki was the daughter of the beast. They were similar in appearance; black pelt and amber eyes. But as Amatus stared at his rival, he could only see ugliness. When his gaze fell upon his beloved mate however, he saw beauty. Her father was old; plagued by the constant duties of evil he upheld, whereas Yoki was youthful and had blossom from a frail skeleton to a gorgeous young lady. And he would endure anything to keep her from harm. “Come on then.” He snarled, and turning back to Yoki he smiled. “Stand back, my dearest Yoki, I will make sure he harms no more.” But he quickly pinned his eyes upon the darkened monster, though fighting was not something he was educated in, he knew the dangers of turning his back on the enemy.
