aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The scent of the King soared proudly into the pack air. His fragrance was one of the two strongest scents within Aurora. Leila understood that he had been absent from the pack, fighting a challenger who had dared disturb the peace that resided in the Kingdom. Her ears pinned to her slender head as she distinguished the scents of blood and wounds. It was unavoidable that he would not get damaged but as the ashen maiden stood, she silently pleaded that Kalgalath’s injuries were not fatal. He was strong but even the strongest of wolves could be hurt of even defeated, though she hoped that this was not the result. Even the thought of Aurora being controlled by another wolf sent rebellious thought coursing through her mind. Her submission would never be a stranger, only to King Kalgalath and Queen Zig. But she had much faith in Kal’s strength and so travelled with a sense of optimism, following the memory of his howl.

When the black dame arrived upon the scene, she was met by several other pack mates. Like her, they would all follow Kalgalath. Ripe pumpkin eyes rested fondly and curiously upon each member. Zig was closest, sharing a moment of intimacy. Kong and Chenzii stood nearby conversing. Though Leila knew of their presence, she had never taken an opportunity to talk to them. But being polite, she regarded each wolf with a dip of her head before carrying on to the body of her King. His appearance shocked her. His dappled body was caked in a layer of blood, crimson liquid awarding him with almost an impression of a killer. Though Leila knew that he could never be such a thing- he was a creature of loyalty and compassion.

“Hi Zig,” she greeted cheerfully but her eyes fell upon the pitiful body of Kal once again. “I’m glad to see you back alive, Kally, though I always knew that you would win. I hope you excuse my laziness around the pack of late, and don’t hesitate to let me know if there’s anything you need.” With a final smile, she gently touched her nose to his neck and padded away. And though it was a small action, it expressed her warmth for her dear friend and her gratefulness for his loyalty to the pack. Leila had not conversed with Kal in many weeks, and the thought saddened her but she knew that his time was occupied by many factors, many of which that she was not concerned with.

ooc - ACK, sorry for the awful post! I haven't got a whole bunch of muse for Leila and I wanted to get this up asap.
