News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

“Yes, my pride remains well intact, thank you.”

I lifted one violet eye towards the dark male that had been so long my companion, returning to my rock with a satisfied grin, waiting for the boy to join me. Truthfully I find the lad amusing and indeed, though he had lost his prize once more I am inclined to believe he is actually rather intelligent. Hmm, maybe this Nootau fellow did have value, Azrael was wrong, then again, my imbecile of a son is often wrong. Takes after his Mother- Zeivah was often wrong as well, although she possessed far more intelligence then Azrael ever did. I smiled momentarily at these thoughts, at the fading memories of the mate I had lost so long ago, shaking them away, refusing in this moment to be reminded of the female I had slept beside for so many, many years. I allowed my tail a momentary wave as Nootau leapt up beside me, my old form easing down once more, bones protesting this movement though I silenced them inwardly, refusing to acknowledge my bodies consistent complaining. I am entirely as athletic as I have always been, still fully capable of running rings around Devil I am sure. My thoughts on this matter were given to shift however as Amir and Voltaire seemed content to continue with a story that seems to have entwined itself with myself, Devil and my family for a number of years. Honestly the amount of grief Amir and Voltaire had caused for Trenus and Paracon over the years makes me entirely inclined to remove them both from Diveen. Maybe I am old, but I have no doubt my skills remain superior and indeed, with Devil and Nootau’s assistance, perhaps I can do he entire land a favour by removing these two and letting them deal with whatever blood feud it is they continue to have. Honestly, were the situation fitting I might well have rolled my eyes. Then again, this story has just gotten interesting.

I rested the violet of my gaze upon Amir and Voltaire, flicking from one to the other as they spoke, Voltaire appearing almost as if he were about to break and indeed for a moment I might have been willing to admit I….felt something for him. I know what it is to lose a mate, I lost Zeivah and Devil lost Kiska, I know that pain and yet….to have been forced to kill my own mate? This is a pain even I have not felt and indeed I have been given to feel rather a bit these last few years. My entire career is based upon taking the lives of others and ignoring the emotions of those left behind, it is simply what I do, yet that does not mean I fail to understand something in regards to what they suffer. I paused momentarily, one ear flicking at the sounds of the boy beside me, handsome head turned towards him as the first sign of tears tainted the fur of his face, my own head tilting slightly in disapproval. He is- young, I suppose, barely yet understanding so much of life and yet I am inclined to offer him the same words I gave my own sons when their mother died.

“Boys don’t cry, Nootau. That is a weakness, if you cannot stop it, at least hide it.”

Harsh? Maybe, but why not teach him now? Perhaps he will be a king one day and I have never yet seen any King cry, at least not in front of any others. I snorted, turning away from him, shifting slightly to prevent and stray tears from daring to touch my perfected pelt, though I did allow my tail to sweep momentarily against him in some passing gesture of, hell, I hardly know, affection perhaps? Either way I returned my attention to the pair before me, eyes flicking from one male to the next, resting briefly upon Devil, seeing the same note of curiosity upon his features that I had seen so often in all the years we have walked beside each other and ruled together. Hmm, it would appear the story of Amir and Vague is not so clear cut as I was given to believe, then again I have simply come to the conclusion that both males are liars and neither is worthy of my trust. I tolerate them both, will speak to them both and yet beyond that I have little patience for either of them. Even so, this is a truly engaging little story. A Panther? That’s new and yet indeed it would seem this entire event is based upon a series of misunderstandings, unfortunate that. Then again, words are an incredible weapon when used in the right way, this little argument proving only what can be achieved with a lac of communication, how entertaining. I paused once more, violet gaze flicking from Devil to the pair before me as I continued to rest beside Nootau, a smirk momentarily tracing my features.

“Please, do allow me to voice what we are all no doubt thinking. If Amir did not kill this aforementioned sister and Voltaire did not, then who, might I ask, is responsible for this crime, hmm?”

It’s been a while since I have been so very entertained and yet equally….intrigued. The truth is always far better then any lie.
