The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

They doubted her. The vixen tasted it within the air, she felt it within her bones. Kershov knew that they were talking bullshit, but that didn’t stop her at all. In fact, her orbs burned brighter, the tension in her paws melting away into the soft soil. Magic was going to get herself and Chenzii out of this moment with the information they needed. Asher was to be found. Kalgalath had even told her that he had gone missing at one point. He needed to be found, and Abendrot was a place that should be looked. The new Queen of Abendrot escaped her mind, the description of Asher’s scent now becoming fresh in her memory. ““I understand your predicament. I shall be glad to escort you into Abendrot. After you.” He turned them around, the scents and sights of Abendrot folding out into the open darkness, a touch of moonlight dappling the leaves on either side of the path. Magic thought about asking questions. Had Kershov known Asher before he had disappeared? It would even be plausible that he could have changed his name...Magic would have to go by the description Kalgalath gave her to find him.

Just then, a fresh scent traveled into the ess’ nares as a wolf came out of the brush, his shoulders high and his attitude suggesting a rank that what high. “ My welcome to you, Aurora wolves. I am Marx, Head of the Soldiers, mind if I help you sniff out your suspect?” Magic raised her brow. Was this wolf hiding in the trees this whole time? She wouldn’t have been surprised; every shadow and flicker of light held its secrets. A warm smile came over the vixen’s kissers. “Why thank you, Marx. As my colleague Chenzii has said, my name is Magic. It is such a pleasure that you can assist us in this horrible temperament of this wolf’s doing. May I ask a couple questions? His name is Asher, and he has been missing from our forests for about six to seven months now. He has a dark grey pelt and a scar running down his back leg. It was a small one; I am not sure if it could still be visible.”

Marx started walking up next to the fae, and Magic’s tension increased and decreased faster than a blink. She lifted her cranium into the air, scenting the area for Asher and wondering if he would even think about coming to Abendrot in the first place. Magic didn’t really like how their entrance into the terra was greeted by such welcoming. She never trusted Abendrot for a second, which would explain why the grey wolf would come here to hide from the prying eyes of Aurora Borealis. It seemed like the wolves were hiding behind a shield, keeping their real thoughts in their heads and waiting until they got deeper into the darkness before they attacked. Magic didn’t expect anything. The previous mission of finding the Queen of Abendrot long forgotten. Asher was the main source of her findings now.
