I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Taviora has turned out to be a rather productive pack to be a part of. Already I was falling into a routine. Every morning I rose before the sun, from whatever resting place I'd found the night before, and began my Border Patrols. I hadn't made myself a den yet, for I felt there was little purpose for such furnishings when I hadn't any cubs or mate to share it with. For now, any shaded tree or alcove that blocked the wind would due aside from my own thick hide. Some nights I didn't even sleep at all. Mine was a restless Soul, and I was pleased to have work to do.

Today began as any other, and I rigorously check the perimeters of Taviora's territory, marking it's limits with my scent to ensure it was fresh for any that might think to trespass. On my travels I look for signs of thievery or mischief, and when I am satisfied there have been no breach upon our borders I turn my attentions towards the heart of the Kingdom.

The land here was abundant in game, despite winter's frosty clutches, and I took the time to stalk a flock of fat ptarmigan that were scratching and pecking at the snow and tundra scrub for what food there was to be found. Ptarmigan were ridiculously unintelligent creatures, so much so it surpassed humorous to downright pathetic.

The avian creatures were about the size of a large chicken, fluffed up in white feather and taking on the appearance of a grouse. I hardly had to stalk them at all, and could easily come within view of the birds without them so much as spooking. The dominant male of the flock even took a few foolhardy steps towards me, puffing up his chest and scolding me in their bird's garble. It would prove to be a fatal decision on his part.

After snapping my jowls around his throat, his flock of hens seemed to decide it was finally time to make a break for it, but rather then fly they still were content to scuttle across the snow to seek safety in the underbrush. I rolled my eyes at their cries of terror, unable to stop the bubbling luaghter that fell from my clamped jaws. I ate my breakfast in piece, but saved a savory portion of the bird's breast and thigh.

Today was to be a special occasion, for today I shall take into my keeping another apprentice to train. I can still recall my first apprentice, taken on when I was a deputy in Paracon. His name had been Risk Stone, and by the time he'd become a trained warrior he'd also become a part of my family.... as close as any of my sons. He grew to be a noble and ambitious wolf, and I was saddened he was not in Moladian still. It was widely assumed he perished in the Great Cataclysm... But I like to think the crafty Risk somehow slipped through the cracks and lived still, on adventures elsewhere beyond the world of Moladian.

I was ready once again to mentor another young mind, to mold it and teach it the finer arts of tactical Combat and Hunting strategy, as well as living by the Code of a Warrior. Warriors were not just killing machines. They were protectors. Arbitors, and they had to know when to recognize Justice as much as injustice, so that when times came to make difficult decisions they could be sure of themselves to make the right decisions.

I come to a central location, highly trafficked by taviora's common people, and set my offering at my paws. I was a massive she-wolf, and knew that my battle-worn appearance could be most intimidating, but I did my best to look open and welcoming of company. In truth, a part of me hoped that Zeteri would be one of those that would come seeking apprenticeship. It would give me a chance to get to know my daughter again, and perhaps rekindle a bond with her and see to her training personally. If need be, I would take her and another apprentice under my wing at the same time... after all, I trained Risk at the same time as some of my own children as well. It would be a joy and priveledge rather then a burden.

I let out a sharp howl, one that rung true, calling to any in the pack that might like to seek training.

I couldn't help myself but to ask.
