Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

He considered his friend’s words, head tilted to the side thoughtfully, “I don’t know that I’m ‘proud’ per se… I think… I think I’m just glad I can be a part of it… to be honest I’m quite lucky I’m still here.” It was true; he’d nearly died as a puppy, separated from his mother and siblings in a storm. He wasn’t sure what had happened to Kaji or Tide, but he knew that if it hadn’t been for his now estranged father he would have frozen to death. A fitting way to pass, for one with a name like his…

His ears twitched at Azar’s reaction; she didn’t seem scared, more… inquisitive… amazed, even. “Y-Yes, a vampire… most people wouldn’t react with the interest that you have, you know? Mist would… feel intimidated at the mention of the word…” Of course, he wasn’t intimidated by the concept of creatures that feast on the blood of others; he was used to it. That was just his heritage.

He chuckled quietly at her response to his words, tail giving a few light waves. “It’s not that people have an off concept of friends or friendship, it’s just that… I don’t socialise all that often…” that was an understatement; he had two friends in the whole world, and he didn’t speak to anyone outside of their rare encounters, he was a hermit by all accounts. Azar’s laugh, he found himself noticing, was cute, and he hoped that he would hear her laugh more often; it meant that she was happy, after all, and really that was all he wanted from her, though her words did make him blush a little. “Th-Thank you… I… I like you how you are, too…” he said softly and shyly.

That… that must have sounded so stupid… he scolded himself mentally, letting out an inaudible sigh.

And then she made him blush more, his icy blue eyes settled on his paws, and he murmured a quiet thank you to her, not quite able to work up the courage to lift his gaze again.

“I… w-well, it’s kind of a long story but... when I was on Wolf Mountain a little while ago I… I could’ve sworn I caught scent of both of my parents, together… which… should be impossible…”
