Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

It seemed like a long journey but at last small, white paws touched the frozen ground of the little island in the center of the large lake. Small gusts of steam rose from her mouth as she panted heavily, a small smile on her face. They did it! In her mind this was a great achievement unlocked by she and Cae alone. No other wolf had dared move across the ice or swim the waters to reach this island. They were, in her eyes, the first to ever reach this mysterious land.

What sort of odd creatures lived here? What would they do for food if they couldn't make it back across the frozen lake? It was like an adventure and Gaia barked happily, gazing back to see Cae gliding easily on the ice not too far behind her. Then, with her attention drawn back to the island, she bolted off to explore this new world.

To a wolf pup it was vast. There were a number of smaller trees and bushes that would make a great hiding spot should a game of Hide and Seek start. She could also smell there were some odd smells here and there, mostly belonging to some bird. But there was one smell that knocked her for a bit of a loop and she skidded to a halt to take it in. It was a heavy, musky scent that reminded Gaia of mud. With her nose to the ground she followed it until it took her to the opposite bank. There was a small brown animal sitting on the muddy bank.

It had a strange flat tail and even weirder looking feet. Gaia giggled and cocked her head to the side as she looked at the beast. One day she would learn to hunt animals like the beaver that sat before her. But for now, she was just happy to watch the animal and learn. She turned around to see if her brother had followed. She wanted to show him this animal and maybe together they could even learn to take it down and eat it. Gaia was getting hungry and it was in her wolf nature to want to eat smaller animals.
