The 16th annual Carden Alvar Christmas Bird Count (CBC) will be held this Saturday, January 4, 2014 as part of the 114th National Audubon Society and Bird Studies Canada events across North and South American held every year between December 14th and January 5th.
We will meet at the Carden Recreation Centre at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning for coffee and muffins and to divide into field teams. Teams will be in the field from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. then will return to the Centre for a potluck dinner and summary of observations of the day. If you are interested in taking part in the Carden Christmas Bird Count contact Bob Bowles to be added to a team. There have been several Snowy Owls reported in southern Ontario this winter and we may find one on the count this year plus many other interesting birds. Replies: There have been no replies.
