Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Jago half-rolled his eyes when she called his bluff. He was lying through his sharpened teeth…clearly. “I love it.” Any female was beautiful in her own way. There was no wrong way to look nor was there a right way to look at that. The scars that caressed her body was nothing to him. Jago had to admit she was attractive to him, but he had other matters to attend to. His claws were hanging off the side of this steep cliff and he was a nosedive away from dying. A rush of adrenaline ran through his body at the thought of being ambushed by the girl when he least expected it, lest she had the heart to keep him above sea level (which right now he was doubting it slightly). Jago noted when she looked over the edge to examine the fall. It was clear that she couldn’t care less if he jumped or not…

And that was when she leapt from her spot to stop him, he assumed. His lips let slip a chuckle but she had assumed he was no longer on the cliff but falling and had slammed against him and his balance was lost. Jago slipped from the ledge with claws scraping for any sort of grip, and when he found there was not his life seemed to flash before him. He saw his older brother playing with him but teaching him to be tough. There was a moment when his tail was ripped from his small, frail body by his brother and how his mother had pinned Inaeo to the ground when it had happened. A memory of his father holding his mother by the scrape of the neck after she had given Jago an entire rabbit to himself…and that was when the memory stopped. A pair of teeth clamped against the back of his own neck and began to tug him forward. His feet found leverage enough to pull him upwards but he was frozen and there was not much more that he could do than let the girl drag him upwards.

Jago stiffened when he was safely away from the ledge, his body pulsing and his heart beating against his ribcage. He could heart his heart in his ears and the words the girl yelled were half-muffled against the pounding but he somehow managed to make out the anger in her voice. Eyes focused on the girl now other than the inside of his own eyelids, her body between he and the ledge. She was fuming now and Jago could not help but to let a small, weak laugh from his battered lungs. “Technically you threw me from the ledge, Sheila.” It was his fault though. It was a fairly reckless thing to do around a rocky grave, but it had been exciting. "Thanks...I suppose."

Anger seemed to engulf the girl and when a female was angry, everyone was angry. Fur stood on end and teeth seemed to be bared. The girl thrust her face so that he could feel her breath on his neck and her eyes were filled with hatred…or anger, he wasn’t necessarily sure. But her eyes were beautiful, like a punnet of ripened blueberries gathered by hoard animals and he was momentarily distracted from the crackling of the rocks beneath her. Words were yelled toward Jago, but he wasn’t paying attention to her anymore. The rocks were loosening beneath her and before he could warn her it was too late and the rocks had collapsed under her.

She leapt now, clinging to the ledge for life and Jago knew that she could not get up on her own. She was flailing and he was frozen with an uncertainty on how exactly to hoist her up. It would be pulling dead weight and he didn’t want to hurt her by grabbing her nape but there was no other choice that he could make. Jago lunged for her and in an attempt to keep her claws from slipping he placed his paws atop hers, pressing them hard into the ground. Teeth bared and mind racing, he snapped the skin and fur at her neck and pulled back roughly, releasing her paws so he could use his own to pull harder. Tugging her upwards and feeling her slip between his teeth, his eyes shut tightly and he let a throaty, aggressive grunt escape.

Within seconds he pulled her from the ledge like a ragdoll and fell backwards with her weight on top of him. Muscles ached with strain and his body shook with the last of his adrenaline and half-exhaustion. “A life for a life.” He half growled now. “My debt to you has been repaid.” Shaking the girl from the top of his body, he stood and examined the back of her neck. Her dark fur and the wet spot of his saliva made it hard for any open wound to be seen by the naked eye. “Are you alright?”
