So I don't know if the world just realised Shaman was here or that it was awesome or what, but suddenly we have lots of people. To all newbies - welcome! And to all returning players - welcome back!
Put together a quick round-up of info for newbies to hopefully help you along your way.
Free stuff:
- If you are the first person to reply to an open/any post, then you may claim +5 points for your character on the updates board! Any/open posts are listed in the funny box on the chat board.
- After you first join and have made two in-character posts, you can claim 200$ on the updates board.
Things to do:
- There's a pretty old but still going strong quiz you can do on the OOC board. If you get every question right you can claim +40 points!
- I want to know if you want a thing on the OOC board.
- If your character is the fighting type, send them to battle a monster in Macabre Marsh under adventure!
- If your character is the exploring type, you can send them on an exploration under adventure. Be warned - you will need supplies before you go. If you can't afford supplies, yell at me on the OOC board and I'll help you out :)
- Aspiring students can sign up for the academy under adventure. To sign up, just post on the updates board! All teachers are NPCs right now so you can do your own lesson planning. :)
- If you want your own territory, check under reside for open ones, then post to the king in the castle to request his permission to live on the land.
- If you want a quest, you can request one of a deity. There are currently deities living in the pantheon (adventure), Olive Grove (reside) and the castle (reside).
Where to get help:
- Information about how to get points, coins and doubloons, and the difference between each, is on the FAQ under help.
- Information about levels (magic + levels), NPCs (non-player characters) and deities (religion + culture) are all under adhere.
- If you can't find what you're looking for under adhere or help, just post on the OOC board, ask in the cbox or contact an admin privately. There's no such thing as a stupid question and we're always happy to help out newbies :)

- Because you're new, unbiased and can provide fresh input, we're always especially keen to hear feedback and suggestions from newbies. I know it can be intimidating to speak up when you're new, but your opinions are very valuable to us and we want to hear what you have to say. If you have feedback or a suggestion, either post it on OOC or contact an admin privately.
I also recommend all new players to the site read this news post.
