Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The female surprises me, screaming Latin as well as any Diveen wolf I've ever met. My eyes widen and I take a hesitant step back. What's her problem?

"Non ut in per vestri panties rusticae."
(Don't get your panties in a wad)

I find myself mumbling under my breath as I look up at her through my lashes, unsure of what to do or say next. She turns around baring her teeth at me and now some of my family's famous disdain flickers in my eyes as I square my shoulders and raise my hackles, my lips twitching but I keep my teeth covered. I refuse to stoop to her level. I'm better than that.

She has odd markings, thats for sure. I watch as she turns back to the fish after snorting at me, my eyebrow shooting up as my nose wrinkles at the noise. Such an unattractive noise that is. She mocks me about knowing what the fish is thinking and I scowl.

"Anyone can tell its dying. You'd be offering it a mercy."

And then she mocks my bloodlines and now my anger is spiking. How dare she make fun of Angels! My lip curls back and I growl in warning.

"Take that back! You know nothing about my pack or my family!"

She turns back to the fish, putting it in the water. I watch with barely concealed doubt, my eyes glimmering with mischief. What is she doing? Can't she tell the fish is dead? When I glance up at her though, my face sobers. She actually looks....sad. My ears flick back and I part my lips, though I have no idea what to say.

Suddenly the fish comes to life and swims away and her face change is instantaneous. She barks in triumph and prances back over, bragging about a fish who wants to live. I tilt my head, amusement in my eyes.

"Yeah, just so a bear or a bigger fish can eat it further downstream. It's the circle of life and nothing can change that. All you did was delay the inevitable."
