The stallion had a much rougher voice than Xanti's, slightly surprising him as he noticed it now that the male spoke more. It was a bit difficult to understand him with his style of speaking, but the grullo would adapt. For all he knew the bay was struggling just as much as he was to understand the words. He spoke almost immediately after the grullo apologized, still tense with anger. "As I will protect mine." He answered. He currently did not have a herd but would head out as soon as he was comfortable with his land. Surely many unclaimed mares would be wandering the main island. The grullo flared his nostrils to obtain the other male's scent and simply stared at him. It was probably his cue to leave.
But the bay spoke again with no true answer. He would consider being allies at least, that was a good thing. "It could be a simple alliance," he began again, "don't touch my herd and I won't touch yours. Maybe at some point we can trade daughters." Xanti fell silent again, letting the stallion consider these new words as a handful of moments passed. He should be getting back to his herd land and exploring it more. "When you've made your decision, call for me at the boarder. I will hear." With that he turned away and began walking back towards the dunes that raised up above him. But the stallion questioned him after only a few steps. "Xanti," he said after turning his head around to gaze at the other stallion. He supposed he should be getting the bay's name but it could wait for later. After all, he was living right next to him. If someone else took his land Xanti would just have to start over with the new stallion and forget the old one. He was really just looking for peace between the two herd lands.
Turning his head back around and walking up one of his dunes, the stallion moved to go down behind it as he left the desert and the bay to do what he wanted. I want to let you color me inhtml and character by bix |
