At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

A month had passed since she had had her last run in with Kenshin and his strange disappearance. The brute had not allowed her to step into the frozen water of Staircase Falls and instead had fished for her. Kahlan had to admit… it had been a first for her. No one had ever hunt for her before and more than that, she had never seen anyone fish with the skill that he had… aside from herself. His technique was merely his speed, where Kahlan always used a diversion. And for her, he had sent to the shore 8 trout for her, a hearty meal in anyone’s book. And then he had left. Please do no overexert yourself again, miss Kahlan… It would be troublesome, that it would. There are others who appreciate your kindness, and most certainly would not be happy to see you in any kind of pain. His countenance upon his departure had his pinnae pinned against his cranium and silence.

But that whole meeting had been strange in general. When he had entered the waters, walking past her, he had walked close to her but seemingly had purposefully avoided touching her at all. And there had a brief moment while he had been fishing for her… when he had frozen. His hackles had rose and his eyes slitted… but it had last just a moment. And then he had left. Just like that. Gone.

The meal had been filling, the eight fish almost being too much to fill her up. Afterward, she had crawled pack to Saw Tooth, her energy almost completely spent since she was trying to digest the fish. Once reaching her den, she had taken a full day nap, awaking the next day feeling refreshed and revived. It was surprising to her… and since then she had tried to better herself. Since Henadin and Channing returned from Abendrot, she was not needed. Channing seemed to be more maternal than before she had left and so Kahlan had had time to recover. She had began hunting again and in the span of a single month, she had regained her former stance. Her pelt had filled out once more and she had put muscle and meat back upon her skeleton. After filling out, her ribs had hid themselves, and the last few changes? Her pelt had recovered its shine and the twinkle of brightness had returned to her eyes. She was back to her normal self.

A pause in the winter weather had risen the temperature to the low 60s… plenty warm enough for a swim. Kahlan had regained her love of exploring and thus had wandered out of the territory. She stretched her limbs at a long gallop, enjoying stretching her limbs as much as she had a month ago… only now she was physically able to handle the fast pace. Laughing, she struck out on her trek joyously leaping over fallen logs and streaking through nettled branches. She had followed the river down, and when she finally reached Leisure Lake she skidded to a halt. The soil gave way to rounded and smooth pebbles surrounded in the softest silt. A breeze blew toward her, loosening her pelt and she closed her eyes, feeling free once more.

But then her mind flew to Kenshin. The conundrum that he presented irked her... intrigued her. And that was when her nares flared, inhaling his perfume upon the breeze. Turning around, her bright yellow orbs scorged the surrounding dense woods, but she saw naught of his form. "Kenshin!" Her maw opened, letting loose her vocals in a bark. Once more she spoke... questioning this time. "...Kenshin?"
