At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

As Mae slinked into the small den, Terrel sighed in relief. She would be okay. They were fortunate that they had managed to uncover this. He was thankful that this little crevice in the ground had been left unattended for he knew that Mae would suffer greatly in sickness if they stayed in glacial land. As he crawled in, he discovered it a tighter squeeze he had first assumed. The den smelt of old, stale and foreign colognes that clung to the walls, embedded into the earthiness and ensuring they would stay for many days to come. Terrel was appreciative that the den spread out at the back and rose in a height so that a full grown wolf might have been capable of at least standing slightly. But it was still enclosed and this fact strangely brought him comfort. The heat would be contained in the small area. And it would warm her.

He felt no hesitation for their close contact; Terrel crept swiftly towards the silver encrusted lady and wrapped his body around her own. He had simply one plan and no other thoughts ever damaged it. Terrel wanted to warm ever part of her body, to dry her from the water that dampened her pelt and weighed her down. The boy stretched to spread his tongue over her forehead before finally resting his head upon the side of her stomach. “You don’t need to try to speak. Conserve your energy…” He whispered with his voice as soft as the passing breeze. If she was incapable to spare energy in order to speak then he would rather himself being the one to do the talking and in time… she would drift into sleep.

“Besides, you shouldn’t really be thanking me. I was the one who brought you onto the ice in the first place… I should have been more cautious because look where my careless attitude got me. If it wasn’t for me you would have been fine.” His voice remained quiet and vague, scenes of Mae crashing through the ice replaying chaotically. If had has just stayed away from Leisure Lake it would have never happened. Mae would have had the sense to remain upon snow and eventually returned to Saw Tooth. Everyone would have been fine. Terrel couldn’t understand how stupid he was. He had to be different. He had to show off.

She didn’t hate him though. And though this brought a great sense of joy he couldn’t help the confusion he felt towards it. How was it that she found no anger towards him, how she found no disappointment in his actions?

The multi-hued brute drew in a short breath of the dank air. “You know Mae; you can always call for me. It always seems to me being the one ‘demanding your presence.’ It’s not as if my days are spent busily sorting things. In fact I rarely see many other faces than your own. So I can’t say my life is interesting – though I have been able to take some time to enhance some of my skills… even fishing, believe it or not.” He laughed warmly. “Maybe I’ll stay away from the water for a while though.”

“You gave me such a scare Mae.” He could have said a lot more. His voice could have filled the silent den with all the descriptions of his fear. But how was it possible for him to explain it without confessing to his hidden feeling? It wasn’t. Terrel sighed and closed his eyes. Darkness. That was what he saw and that was what he would have felt had she been lost. His whole world would have crumbled its formation diminishing. His whole life would have ceased to exist and he would have fallen into a never ending spiral of despair; unable to live without her.

Without more to comment upon, he remained silent, drifting into a warm sleep.

{ooc - Maybe we could say this was early morning, so they slept until the afternoon? Also, you could post her next at Saw Tooth if you want <3}
